00:00I would like to express my gratitude to PHA Asia, for once again carrying out a unique initiative by themselves,
00:21which is a permanent mining site for additional mining during the Chinese New Year season.
00:30And for your information, this initiative is not only for the Chinese New Year, but will also be continued during the Industry Day,
00:38which we will launch soon, maybe next month.
00:43This is an initiative that has been carried out several times before this,
00:49and this time it will be continued.
00:51For mining between Senanjung and Sarawak, it will be set at RM328.
00:58And for Sabah, it will be RM388, including tax and donation.
01:05This is for mining to Sabah, because Sabah is further away.
01:11This is one of the initiatives that I think is very good,
01:15because this is an additional mining.
01:19And we know that during the holiday season, especially the Chinese New Year and Industry Day,
01:25the demand for mining is very high.
01:29So this is a good development and effort,
01:34which of course on behalf of the Ministry of Transport, we give full support.
01:42Maybe there is a figure of how many residents, how many people will benefit from this initiative?
01:51For this initiative from A-Asia, these fixed fares, they will have 27,000 seats.
01:58So 27,000 seats, if everyone fill up, if all the flights are filled up, 27,000 people will benefit.
02:05So on top of that, we will have our maximum fare.
02:10We are doing everything possible to reduce the flight tickets during the holiday season.
02:17But we cannot afford to do this year-round, because it is very, very costly for us to subsidise flight tickets.
02:26So I hope that Malaysians will understand, especially friends from Sabah and Sarawak,
02:32we know that sometimes flight tickets will shoot up,
02:37because as I said, the flight tickets are based on dynamic pricing.
02:41In a flight, if you are the early birds, definitely you will get cheaper rates.
02:47But if you are the last-minute passengers, definitely you will pay more,
02:51because they are based on the dynamic pricing.
02:54The more demand, the price of the tickets will go up.
02:58So that is the working mechanism of how airlines fix their fares.
03:05So across all airlines around the world, it is the same.
03:08But in Malaysia, we are doing this extra.
03:11As far as the government is concerned, we are putting a government intervention on this
03:17to put a cap price during the holiday season.
03:22But we can only manage to do this a few days in a year, because only during major festivals.
03:30And we know that the demand will go up, and we do this with a cost that the government is prepared to help.
