00:00Skilled Filipino workers are in high demand all over the planet.

00:04However, the competition has grown stiffer and broader so the Department of Migrant Workers

00:09needs to engage more internationally with employers from different countries to get

00:14up to speed with technology and best trade practices.

00:18Hence, participation in the Overseas Labor Market Forum was a no-brainer as we hear more

00:24from our Bien Manalo.

00:29Continued strengthening and deepening of bilateral relations with employers from different countries.

00:35This was assured by the Department of Migrant Workers at the Overseas Labor Market Forum

00:40today.

00:41The agency will focus further on the promotion of bilateral cooperation and multilateral

00:47engagements that will cater to the welfare of the overseas Filipino workers.

00:52Also enhancing their safe, ethical, transparent and sustainable mobility.

00:58We are aggressive on what we call bilateral labor relations, engagements, bilateral labor

01:04diplomacy.

01:05The agency's relationship with different sectors continues to enhance the local job market

01:11as well as providing training for the upskilling of workers.

01:15The TMW also ramped up its campaign against illegal recruiters and human traffickers.

01:21This includes the Anti-Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Person Campaign or AIRTIP.

01:27We will always have to assume that illegal recruitment and human trafficking is a scourge

01:31that continues.

01:32We can't rest because if not, more will be victims.

01:36Meanwhile, the DMW announced that Japan is scheduled to recruit over 800,000 Pinoy workers

01:43in the next five years.

01:45More than 20,000 of them are headed to the automobile industry to work as taxi drivers.

01:50The DMW targets to open two more migrant workers' offices in Bangkok, Thailand and

02:06Guam before the year ends.

02:09This is an addition to the two offices already opened.

02:12They plan to build four or five more offices in Africa, Asia and Europe next year.
