00:00The Department of Agriculture recommended to reduce the rice production by 15%.

00:07According to Agriculture Assistant Secretary Arnel De Mesa,

00:11there is a need to increase the supply of imported rice.

00:15This is far from being enough for the production of rice, beans, and the next batches.

00:21As a reminder, more than P10 billion has been invested in rice production.

00:26In this way, it will also ensure that the price of rice will not drop.

00:3235% of the normal rice tariff before the Executive Order No. 62 is implemented.

00:40As of now, we are expecting that our production will decrease.

00:50We still need additional imports so that our volume of stocks will not decrease.

00:59Assuming that the tariff will increase by 35% from 15% and imports will increase,

01:09surely there will be a cost spike in the price, which we do not want at this time.

01:16Especially since our next harvest is in March and April.
