00:00Hello, I'm Gretel Killeen and this is Big Brother.
00:29Tonight's show is called The Party's Over, but really the fun is just beginning.
00:34It's hard to believe that in just one week there will be an eviction on this stage.
00:40Meanwhile, in just one night, the nominations will be announced.
00:44And that is what this night is all about.
00:46The nominations. Who, where, what, why and how.
00:51Joining me this evening to give their wisdom and haphazard guesses will be Jess, Marty, Carmel Hill
00:56and a man who professes to know all the inner workings of Big Brother's mind, Peter Abbott.
01:02Yes, tonight we will learn some of the truth about the new nomination process.
01:06We'll also be catching up with the events in the houses over the last two days,
01:10including never-before-seen footage of the sinful parties both houses enjoyed on Friday night.
01:16But first, some of the housemates have had a whole week together.
01:20Some have only had a couple of days.
01:23Let's take a look at how the new arrivals in the roundhouse have been coping.
01:27Have they been who they said they'd be?
01:29My personality is quite detached.
01:33Television, it's almost like a conversation that the people who are in the audience are sort of passively listening to.
01:39And I've always really wanted to be involved with that and contribute.
01:44I want to meet people and be interactive.
01:46I wanted to be interactive, Dan.
01:48And look up.
01:48Wash your hands and scrub your nails before you eat your food.
01:57Let's get real.
01:58Let's get emotionally naked.
02:00That's my third nipple right there.
02:02Hello, I'm little nipple.
02:03It is not.
02:04I'm Nipple Boy.
02:10Level of difficulty, 6.8.
02:12My favourite article of clothing is a flannel at nightie.
02:17Once, a complete stranger said that I reminded them of Rosie O'Don and I still don't think I'm over that.
02:30Beds!
02:31It's a doubly.
02:31And it's going to be a triple.
02:43You know the truth, but you're not saying it.
02:46But if that's the way, then if you're trying to put them back in, then you really don't want to say it.
02:51Let me have another eye look.
02:53Come on.
02:54It's a third nipple.
02:55It has a label.
02:57He's like, oh, he's angry.
02:59I'm not going to be intimidated by anyone.
03:09And why not make this huge bang in the big brother house?
03:15I've been put in to stir shit up, probably.
03:19Not as if you wouldn't, though.
03:21We've got terrible!
03:24And the tennis court!
03:25I'm going to make a headpiece.
03:27Oh, this is going to be fun.
03:30Oh, it's good.
03:30Other people are going a bit loco as well.
03:32That's good.
03:32She doesn't remember it.
03:33I don't feel so bad, then.
03:35Ah, so that's what an audition tape looks like.
03:37Interesting to compare them with what's going on in the house.
03:40So let's take a look now at the other characters in the roundhouse.
03:44Hi, actually, you're at Channel 10.
03:45Yes, sir.
03:46Big Brother Channel?
03:46Yes.
03:47Bear with me a moment.
03:4814 months ago, I was a detective at the sharp end of Pelosi.
03:51And now I'm a lawyer.
03:52As the nature of the beast is, you either love me or you hate me.
03:55Don't be threatened.
03:57They get voted out.
03:59How does it feel, having no control?
04:01It's something I haven't experienced before, and at this stage I don't really like it.
04:05Just want the mind to be clear.
04:07I'm going insane.
04:14I'm crawling on the wall.
04:16And I think that I've been in enough situations to not do something that I didn't want to do
04:19just because of the pressure.
04:22It's a kooky house.
04:25Remember the pecking order, Chloe?
04:27Just remember.
04:27This is my second sleeper.
04:28It was a good one.
04:30I think some of your clues actually distorted the way I was thinking.
04:33You've been here the longest.
04:35Why should they get the double badge?
04:36I have just graduated from law.
04:39I've been Mattel's Barbie.
04:41I'm Miss August in route.
04:43I have been in the Pumped Up Down Under calendar.
04:45I've never done anything really exciting.
04:47I'm not stereotypical.
04:49I'm the complete opposite.
04:50I throw the typical blonde or the typical lawyer out the window.
04:53We're buddies.
04:53We're buddies.
04:54We've got to stick together.
04:55You've got your drawers here.
04:57We're the lawyers.
04:58Let's go to the hot tub.
04:59There's nothing.
04:59Yeah.
05:00Oh.
05:04Hey, I'm pretty open.
05:06Hey, I'm pretty open.
05:11I like to analyse things and try to figure out what's happening.
05:16What's happening.
05:17And what do you do with yourself?
05:19What do you want to do with your life?
05:21You can eat all that.
05:23Yeah, I eat heaps.
05:24Do you?
05:24Have you got worms?
05:26No.
05:29Have you checked?
05:31How old are you, by the way?
05:32I'm okay.
05:33Yeah, that's someone younger.
05:34What do you do with your life?
05:35How old are you?
05:39I'm so hot.
05:42Everyone's told me that what I should be doing is finding a wife, settling down, getting a mortgage, but I'm not quite ready for that.
05:52You're not sleeping on the floor.
05:55I'll sleep on the floor.
05:56How do we just sleep in here?
05:57Reggie.
05:58I've got to have the room in some toilet.
06:01How exciting.
06:02That's great.
06:03Can you believe?
06:10He's playing Monopoly.
06:11I know.
06:14Well done.
06:16Well done.
06:18Who invented the dictionary?
06:19I know that, actually.
06:21Did you?
06:21Yeah, it was a girl from Cambridge.
06:22Oh, yeah.
06:23He killed a prostitute or something.
06:25Yeah.
06:25Ended up in jail and he actually wrote a lot of the definitions.
06:29Yeah.
06:30I'm Regina from Hobart, Tasman.
06:33Eleven long years.
06:36I've been doing this one.
06:38So hopefully I'll be the first Tasmanian to be living in the house.
06:42Go slow.
06:42What do you have?
06:43Hiya.
06:44I make too much adrenaline.
06:46I get a little bit of tingling in my hands from a few things.
06:49Long story.
06:50We'll sit down and talk about it later.
06:51Tingling in your hands.
06:52Yeah, we've got so much time.
06:54All men get tingling in their hands.
07:00You're kidding.
07:05Jo and I was quite nice this morning.
07:07You're kidding, really?
07:08Would you ever do that, Reggie?
07:10I will when I get out of here.
07:11What?
07:12Get BB eyes on your butt.
07:14What kind of flare would I be?
07:17I think it'd be like a...
07:18What kind of flare do you think she'd be?
07:20I reckon I'd be a...
07:21A Gaffertyl or a...
07:22Daisy.
07:22A Daisy?
07:23Daisy?
07:23Yeah.
07:24Daisy?
07:27Well, joining me now is the most nominated
07:30housemate from The Last Big Brother.
07:31Isn't that something to be proud of, Jess?
07:32Yeah, what a title.
07:34And the least nominated.
07:36There you go.
07:37Yeah, that's right.
07:38What a combination.
07:38How many times were you nominated, Marty?
07:40I think twice, maybe two times, yeah.
07:42Normally it's polite to wait to speak
07:44till you've been introduced.
07:45This is Marty, this is Jess,
07:46and of course we've got fabulous Carmel over there.
07:48How are you, Carmel?
07:48Good, thank you.
07:49All right.
07:50Now, we know the house.
07:52Do you think it would be harder
07:53going into the house last
07:54and that everybody would want to nominate you and evict you?
07:57I guess so, possibly,
07:59but as you've noticed,
08:01Ben's kind of taken charge for the fact
08:03that he's been in there the longest
08:04and he's making it known
08:05and I think that might be threatening.
08:07At least when they're new,
08:08you don't know enough about them
08:09and therefore you don't see their idiosyncrasies
08:11and maybe you're not really off them at the moment.
08:14You haven't had enough time.
08:15But when intruders went into the house,
08:17they were always evicted, weren't they?
08:18Oh, no.
08:19We've had one exception.
08:21Yeah, Kieran lasted quite a while.
08:23All right.
08:23So what are your thoughts on this, Marty?
08:25Oh, look, kick them out, keep them in.
08:28It doesn't really matter, does it,
08:29at the end of the day?
08:30Well, it does really, because that's the game.
08:32Oh, does it?
08:32Some have to go.
08:33Who would you nominate if you were in there now?
08:37If I was in the roundhouse.
08:38Which one's the roundhouse again?
08:40That's the academic one,
08:41the one with Joanne and Ben.
08:43Okay, I think...
08:44It's a tough one.
08:45I mean, I haven't seen enough of them,
08:47I guess, to go that far into it.
08:49But in the other house, I think I'd nominate Carlo.
08:53He seems to be the boisterous one
08:56and just causing a bit of a havoc.
08:58So I wouldn't be surprised if they actually nominated him.
09:01Really?
09:02Or Claire, because she's been too quiet, I think.
09:04Yeah, it's either loud or quiet there,
09:05but then again, they're not threatening.
09:07So even though they may sort of wear on you...
09:10The roundhouse, because it's been like a dinner party,
09:13everyone likes each other,
09:14and really no-one's irritated anyone.
09:16So it's going to be much harder, I think,
09:18to nominate in that house.
09:20Do you nominate someone
09:21who you think is competition for yourself?
09:23Would that be a normal personality thing to do?
09:25Or do you nominate someone who's just annoying you?
09:27I just found a favourite and kept picking on them.
09:30I think that's the case.
09:32I think most people...
09:32I think we'll see the game-playing,
09:35you know, the strategy later on.
09:37I think what we're going to see in the first couple of weeks
09:39is really people want to feel as though
09:42they're going to be presented in a good way by their nominations.
09:44So given last year with Jess in particular,
09:48I think they will try to have a good reason.
09:52And I think it will just be any reason that they have.
09:54If they think it's a good reason,
09:55where they'll come across in a considered way,
09:58that's what they'll choose.
10:00All right.
10:00You see, that's how you do it, Marty.
10:01It's also good to be nominated, I think,
10:04because then you get a feel for how the public is perceiving you
10:07and if they like you,
10:08because if you survive a nomination...
10:08Only because it took you how long to get nominated.
10:10But I had no clue if people hated me.
10:12They could have been saying, get him out, please nominate Marty.
10:15We want him out of the house.
10:16They never did, though, so...
10:17Yeah, so you're lucky.
10:18Well, we'd rather think it'll be quiet right now,
10:20because we have to carry on.
10:22After the break, we'll uncover more about Saxon,
10:25who apparently has a great bod,
10:26and he's the last piece in the square house puzzle.
10:29And we will see if he's snapped into place.
10:32These chairs really isolate you from everything, eh?
10:36Being over here, I feel so isolated.
10:39Hello!
10:46There weren't a lot of role models for me.
10:48Like, 12 years ago, 13 years ago,
10:51there was maybe one wog girl on Neighbours,
10:53and that was it.
10:54You know, maybe somebody could look at me and go,
10:56yeah, I can do anything I want.
10:59I can see what you're doing.
11:02My hands in the shot.
11:03You bet it is, honey.
11:04Oh, yes, come on, Irina.
11:08Now, there's one housemate
11:10who didn't greet Saxon with open arms.
11:12Yes, Irina.
11:13Maybe she knew something we didn't know
11:15about the stompy, whompy surfer boy.
11:17Let's see how Saxon's coped
11:19over the last couple of days.
11:22I'm always doing something outside.
11:24I'm very active,
11:25and I love getting outside
11:27and just enjoying myself.
11:29You guys are so messy.
11:31I know.
11:32I'll be the tidy freak, don't worry.
11:34I'm going to, like,
11:35whip a frenzy up in this joint.
11:36Oh, good.
11:37Just so you know,
11:37this little brother's deaf.
11:39Deaf?
11:40What?
11:44They're doing yoga tomorrow morning.
11:46Why'd Bob fall off the swing?
11:49Someone threw a fridge at him.
11:50Bob was a tomato.
11:54Well, he's certainly nice to look at,
11:56but is that enough
11:57to keep Saxon in the house?
11:59Let's have a look at the behaviour
12:01of his adopted family
12:02in the square house
12:03and see who we'd nominate
12:04if we had to.
12:07I love attention.
12:08I love being the centre of attention.
12:10What can I say?
12:11I love people.
12:13Just love people.
12:15I love eating.
12:16I love eating.
12:16I love cooking and cleaning.
12:18I love meeting with mine
12:19for three years.
12:20That's beautiful.
12:21Oh, my God.
12:22She's beautiful, isn't she?
12:24One of you come and see me, please.
12:25Me, me, me.
12:27That's amazing.
12:28Where are the others?
12:30We love kids.
12:31We can't wait to have kids.
12:32Why not?
12:33Good night, Saxon.
12:34Welcome.
12:35Thanks, guys.
12:36That's all right.
12:37Am I crazy?
12:38Are you crazy?
12:39Oh, my God, I am.
12:41I'm just going to get my mum
12:42to say a few words about me
12:44because she loves me.
12:44She's my love mother.
12:46He's a good son.
12:48He's a good brother.
12:49Is he good on Big Brother
12:51because he brings a lot of love?
12:54Jerry, Jerry, Jerry.
12:56We have what he said.
12:58And he's in another Big Brother house.
13:00Come on, one more time.
13:01Go in Italy.
13:01That's just the way they are
13:02and they pleasure a girl.
13:04Do you know what I mean?
13:04That's what they do.
13:05Can you teach me some?
13:06I'm not very good at telling.
13:07I can understand.
13:08I can understand my things.
13:09Do you know what I mean?
13:10I don't know.
13:11Yes, I do.
13:12Put pants on over the top.
13:13Look at you.
13:14Pants on.
13:15How can this camera be on this as well?
13:16I designed a molecular genetic technique
13:20for animal species identification.
13:23Geek.
13:24I love life.
13:26I don't know what else to say.
13:27Oh, yeah.
13:28Oh, it's a little bit of a room.
13:31Music is going.
13:32Hi, guys.
13:33Hello.
13:34I can't feel it.
13:35I want you so bad.
13:37I can't.
13:37I can't.
13:42I'm just telling you something.
13:43I'm absolutely not a nice person.
13:44You look tired, son.
13:45I am tired.
13:45I despise the word nice
13:47and leave far from being nice.
13:49Why, are you an early riser?
13:50Yeah.
13:52She sleeps a lot.
13:53It's all right.
13:53She's used to it.
13:54Hey, Claire's going to sleep again.
13:55Yeah.
13:55Oh, it's crazy.
13:57It's a breath.
13:59I'm an only child.
14:01I've pretty much always got what I want.
14:03Open to challenge and excited by it.
14:06I'm looking for the opportunity to find that real me.
14:09Gamma.
14:10George.
14:10George.
14:11George.
14:11George.
14:12Hi, dear.
14:13Hi, Steve.
14:14Hi, hi, hi.
14:16Because I'm all Pisces, Libra, Gemini.
14:20I'm like air and water, air and water.
14:22Do you want to see where it came out?
14:25Yeah, I have a secret.
14:27I like guys that are forward and we have a really good talk.
14:33Like a really flirty talk.
14:35You're what?
14:3629.
14:37You're 29?
14:38Nice.
14:39Nice.
14:46Skateboarding.
14:46I love skateboarding.
14:51You can never have too many friends, right?
14:53My door swings both ways.
14:55So does mine.
14:56Hi.
14:56We're almost done.
14:58We're having a D&M.
15:00Small guy to big guy talk.
15:01Yay!
15:01Good job, man.
15:03All girls really, really hate it when guys pull on their hair on their legs.
15:08No, why?
15:09Why would you pull their hair on their legs?
15:11Because it's funny.
15:12He's a bit sad and nice computer.
15:16Will you call him Colson?
15:17Will you put Carlo in it?
15:18Oh, yes, Tiger.
15:21Don't hurt me.
15:23Hey, you're welcome.
15:24I'm pretty well known within the consulting sort of structural engineering community.
15:30I want to sort of be very senior in a multinational.
15:34One day I want to be published.
15:36I think you need 10 minutes to see your ass.
15:38Wait, that's good.
15:39You don't want too high because you want it to cook through.
15:43Exactly, exactly.
15:44Do I have to explain myself?
15:45No.
15:46No.
15:46I understand?
15:47Done.
15:48See, this guy's down at the home of mine.
15:49No, you don't want too many cooks.
15:50You cook the meat first and then you chuck this in later.
15:54Do you have a house member?
15:55We've got Jerry.
15:56So I spent like four years doing these things at Maccas.
16:00I'd spray something before I go.
16:02How are you?
16:03No, it's too late.
16:09You want to go further.
16:14I told you I was a shy boy.
16:15So, there we have it.
16:19The housemates from the square house.
16:21Now, Carmel, would they be being themselves at this point?
16:25Or are they still on their best behaviour getting everybody to like them?
16:28I think they're still trying to get people to like them.
16:32I think they're a little bit more settled and a bit more themselves than the other house.
16:36But I think that it takes a couple of weeks, I think, to really relax and a bit themselves.
16:41Adrenaline's still pumping and you just want to have a bit of fun.
16:43Yeah, you're so energetic.
16:44Yeah.
16:45You are on your best behaviour.
16:46I think it's a little bit easier this time around because people don't see the cameras.
16:50No.
16:50So it's a lot easier to not be aware of that.
16:53But I think you know that you're with people that, you know, you don't know them and you're trying to, you have to stay with them.
17:00So it's still artificial at this stage.
17:02But it's difficult because you're trying to entertain the people in the house, but you're also wanting the people outside, all of Australia, who's going to decide whether you stay in or go out.
17:10And there must be an impression you want to make for them.
17:13Were either of you conscious of that?
17:15You have to forget about the outside, I think, and just try to fit in in the house and really get along with people.
17:20Because then I think that you can have more fun in there and you can have more laughter and just so forget about the cameras.
17:27I thought that after about two weeks in.
17:29And I think at this stage it's too early and you're still well aware.
17:33But once you get over that, probably maybe even next week, then you're fine.
17:38You forget and you don't even care if the housemates don't like you.
17:40You don't care about the public.
17:42You just want to have yourself a good time.
17:44Yeah.
17:44So would this be interrupting the fact that nominations are coming in tomorrow night?
17:48Would that be affecting their minds at the moment?
17:52It would be, yes.
17:52It does bring a sense of reality into the house, I think.
17:56When you have to nominate and then after seeing an eviction that really says, hey, this is a game show.
18:01You know, that actually happens and it really brings you back down to ground level, doesn't it, Jess?
18:06Yeah, I guess for the next week you've got to be on your best behaviour because then you will realise that someone's going on Sunday.
18:13Yeah, and you have that fear instilled in you going, I could be going this week so I'd better make the most of my time here for my final week.
18:20It could be.
18:21I'll give you some information back about how you're interacting with the other housemates.
18:26And I was just interested then to see Carlo weeing on the grass.
18:31And he obviously is aware of the external environment.
18:34But Queensland isn't a drought.
18:35It was.
18:35But he is aware of it because he's asking the question, do you think a camera is on the other side?
18:44So he knows that in fact this is something that the world is going to see.
18:49Now, if he gets nominated out, then that's feedback to him.
18:52Maybe that behaviour is not tolerated by the other housemates.
18:54Well, let's take a look at what's been going on in the house over the last couple of days.
18:58It's the first weekend that all the housemates have spent together and the confinement and isolation are having an effect.
19:07In the roundhouse, Daniel is getting used to living with others.
19:12Yeah, no, I'm quite reclusive normally.
19:15They tell me I'm the first introvert that they've had on the show.
19:19You're reclusive?
19:20Introverted?
19:20Yeah.
19:21You are not.
19:22No, but to me, this is getting over the fear of being introverted.
19:26I feel that because I'm so introverted and my idea is of the sort of the Libra with the scales, like balance,
19:33but, you know, everything's okay if it's in the balance system.
19:37Yeah.
19:37That I feel I get a bit zany and crazy and that balances up my sort of more melancholy and down sort of an introversion.
19:43When does this happen?
19:45Well, because I live by myself.
19:47So I spend vast amounts of time by myself.
19:49I've got no trouble with, you know.
19:50I spend no time at all by myself.
19:51Yeah.
19:51How do I?
19:52The last time I cohabited was just with my dad, ages ago.
19:55Really?
19:55Yeah, so, like, I haven't been connected as far as touchy-feely, like, this kind of thing, like, as well.
20:02You can if you want.
20:04You can jump on top of a pack.
20:06Yeah, cool.
20:06If you won't mind.
20:08I could think of a better original.
20:11You could be sandwiched.
20:13No.
20:13I'm making the sandwich.
20:16While in the square house, Carlo and Irina are getting used to living apart from their loved ones.
20:21So what is it that you're worried about, Tracy?
20:23I don't know.
20:24I just want to see her, so.
20:27We haven't been together seven whatever months, and I know she won't do anything, but, like, what if I come out and something did happen?
20:32You're obsessed about it, obviously, because you just, like, found love.
20:36Like, it hasn't had time to tarnish, the bubble hasn't burst.
20:41You're in that really yummy stage, that yummy stage where you can't not talk to each other, you can't touch each other.
20:46You know, you're just, you know, that yummy stage where it's stressful from the yumminess, kind of.
20:54And that's a really nice stage, where you just look in their eyes and you go, you know, when they take off their shirt and go, you know, you just, like, do that.
21:03Where does that go?
21:05I guess it goes.
21:07Some people last forever.
21:09No.
21:10How come this couple's last forever and they're still.
21:12But it changes, it just waxes and wanes.
21:14If you were married today and you still loved your husband of ten years, you'd be saying something different, wouldn't you?
21:21I'm going to start to cry.
21:23Why?
21:25What are you crying for?
21:28Are you okay?
21:32It's not, it's, it just changes, like, that feeling that you've got.
21:36It doesn't go away, it just, it gets killed by teeth brushing and farting and, and shouting over how much,
21:44salt and pepper to put in and, um.
21:47Oh, just, like, the, the things in life that you can't handle anymore.
21:51You know, the devil's in the details.
21:53And.
21:56It just kills all those beautiful feelings.
21:58It's so boring, isn't it?
21:59I know, when you talk about.
22:00Yeah, yeah, yeah.
22:01It's just when you talk about when it changes.
22:03And it's sad, it's sad when it changes.
22:14It seems like they're in a pool or something.
22:22Yeah.
22:23We think they're in a pool.
22:24There's a pool.
22:25There must be a pool.
22:26Yeah, it's huge.
22:27You can, you can hear it.
22:29I can tell.
22:30You can, you can hear it.
22:30Yeah, sometimes when they're jumping, you see the water come up.
22:33That's the way our backyards say, where they're splashing it.
22:35Just laughing at us.
22:37It sort of sounds like out there, having a pool party.
22:40I can smell pool.
22:42Well, you can smell the pool.
22:43Can you smell the pool?
22:45I can smell the pool.
22:46I can smell it close to here.
22:51Ah, yes, the pool is always bigger on the other side of the fence.
22:54Joining me now is Chris Blackburn.
22:57Now, who are you as regards Big Brother, the program?
23:00I'm the man who comes in at four o'clock in the morning
23:02and edits 48 hours of tapes from both houses
23:05and makes it into 24 minutes at four o'clock.
23:09All right.
23:10So your official title is what?
23:11The, what is it?
23:13Supervising Producer of The Daily Show.
23:15All right.
23:15Now, you are very important to us in this show tonight
23:18because this is all about nominations
23:20and, of course, you determine what we see every night
23:22and that's what helps us determine who we're going to vote for.
23:25Now, how does that work?
23:27You get 24 hours of material.
23:29We actually get 48 because there's two houses being filmed 24 hours a day.
23:33So we get 48 hours of material.
23:35We basically go in in the morning and we've had highlighted for us
23:38the scenes that show people's characters, reveal storyline.
23:42And who's done that for you?
23:43We have loggers working 24 hours around the clock.
23:47We have producers working 24 hours around the clock.
23:49And they're all in the control room,
23:50which we saw last week when we were doing the shows through the evening.
23:54They watch 34 monitors and they log basically almost every word that is spoken in the house.
24:00So they'd find a subject...
24:02It's a great job.
24:02Yeah, I know.
24:03They'd find a subject to describe the conversation.
24:06For example, it might be...
24:07It might be Marty and Jess have begun to flirt, asterisk, watch these two,
24:12because this might develop into something.
24:14And, hey, we were right.
24:15Marty and Jess.
24:17Marty and Jess kissing and cuddling in the bed.
24:19That might develop into something.
24:20Yes.
24:21All right.
24:22But you give us the things that are most important to the storyline and character development.
24:27Is that right?
24:27It's mainly about character.
24:29We look to show Australia what the characters are, what their weaknesses are,
24:33who might be annoying who.
24:35It's all about character and the character of the houses as well.
24:38Untidy houses, houses where there's tension,
24:41houses where they're all getting on together.
24:43So it's all about characters.
24:44It's a soap opera.
24:45Here are your characters.
24:46They're actually real people.
24:48Although if you've written a soap opera with Regina in,
24:50no-one would probably believe you.
24:51She is absolutely the best character I've ever seen.
24:55She's wonderful.
24:56Is your job twice as hard this year, having 48 hours instead of 24?
24:59It is twice as hard, yeah, but it's twice as interesting, I think.
25:02Is it?
25:02Well, it's only week one.
25:03You're still sane now.
25:04I'm still alive, yeah.
25:05All right.
25:06Now, predictions, just from your own personal perspective.
25:09Who do you think Carlo will nominate, just out of the blue?
25:13Carlo will nominate?
25:14I think Vincent is like the guy who arrived at the party and then wants to leave early.
25:19I don't think Vincent's going to muck around.
25:21I think he's going to say what he believes and I think he's irritating people.
25:24I think he personally doesn't want to be at the party and I think they're a bit wary of Vincent.
25:28I don't think Vincent cares.
25:29So I think Vincent will get a good representation this week.
25:34And what about over in the other house?
25:36Over in the other house, I know Ben really can't wait for the game to start.
25:40You can just see that ex-policeman's mind spinning around.
25:43And so I think, I don't know.
25:45I don't know over the other house.
25:46I want to make this plea to Australia, though.
25:49As a producer, we watch every year when we put people on and they show their characters.
25:53For some reason, Australia hates a loud character, apart from Jess.
25:59They do hate me for a while.
26:00Hates a loud character.
26:02And so all our interesting people, up they go.
26:04And each week, when we go in on the Monday, our best person's been taken off us.
26:08Don't vote the really funny, interesting people out again, please.
26:12Leave them there.
26:13You're saying I was boring.
26:14Yes, yeah.
26:15Get around in that way.
26:17Chris Blackburn, thank you very, very much.
26:19You see, it's all clear now.
26:21Well, we know it's hard work for some people being in the house.
26:24And that's why Big Brother gave them a relaxing party on Friday night.
26:28The theme was the seven deadly sins.
26:31In advertising, that theme is used to describe everything from cars to ice cream.
26:34The phrase actually comes from the Bible and refers to pride, envy, sloth, gluttony, lust, anger and greed.
26:41So let's take our first look at the seven deadly sins Big Brother party.
26:48Oh, what does she want?
26:49Well, then, I'll be, well, what was she for?
26:52I'm not greedy.
26:53I'm sloth, I'm happy with that.
26:54You're sloth?
26:54Yeah.
26:55I'll just be whatever's left.
26:57Do you understand what they are?
26:59Please lust them.
27:00Let's go.
27:01I'll have to be envy because I wear, I'm envy, I wear the purpose of envy.
27:04Lust, if you don't love someone, you're lust, it's the one under love.
27:07Lust is like a musical.
27:10I lust for a spa bath.
27:14Is that...
27:15The housemates are provided with a dress-up box so they can act out their new roles.
27:21What are you?
27:22Um, lust.
27:25Lust.
27:26I need an L.
27:27You need the L here.
27:29You have to.
27:29Hang on.
27:33Aw.
27:34Can I say?
27:36Is that for lust?
27:37L.
27:37Or is that for something else?
27:39Loser.
27:40It was for lovely.
27:41Yeah, it was for lovely.
27:42Yep.
27:43Gluttony, it means just, I'm going to eat everyone's food.
27:46Oh, it's not only that with food, like, you're a glutton.
27:50You're a glutton in everything.
27:51Can you explain it to me?
27:52So, you're in excess, like, everything's in excess.
27:56Let's go.
27:57Yeah!
27:57I'm going to have to be taught a lesson, all right?
28:00Please.
28:01Romy.
28:03The deadly sins party gives the housemates an opportunity to bond.
28:07But next morning, the reality of living together and getting on hits home.
28:12Saxon reveals his feelings about Vincent to Belinda.
28:14The only thing that'll, like, annoy me is if I get told what to do.
28:20Yep.
28:21And it's starting to happen.
28:22Is it really?
28:23Yeah.
28:23Are you serious?
28:24Okay, I thought.
28:25Yeah, Carla, I'll certainly get blocked around or something.
28:27You'll see it happen.
28:29Oh, I know who it is.
28:30Someone who likes to land in the steps up list.
28:34Yes.
28:37I understand.
28:37You'd think that he'd make an exceptional two years.
28:40You would, you would.
28:40A similar issue is also brewing in the roundhouse.
28:48Benjamin is the topic, while the housemates are completing a charity task for the Starlight Foundation.
28:53Should I feel bad that I'm not, like, cooking?
28:55I mean, Ben loves it.
28:56He's right in there, isn't he?
28:57Carl.
28:58Even if you wanted to, I don't think you'd be able to allow it.
29:00No, he wouldn't let you.
29:02It's shitting me, actually.
29:03Is it?
29:04Do you want to have a go?
29:05Yeah, of course I want to.
29:06I went over there before.
29:07I want to help out.
29:08And he's like, okay, you move away.
29:09Interesting.
29:10Yeah, I wouldn't mind having a go myself.
29:11Yeah, he's a very dominant, sort of, he's into the whole, he's alpha male.
29:16Alpha male, yeah.
29:17Yeah, even like when we're in, if we're sitting on the chairs, he'll sit in there with, like,
29:21a staff, like a king or something like that.
29:23Yeah, I noticed that.
29:24It's really amazing.
29:26He has been here the longest, so that sort of adds to it as well.
29:29Yeah, yeah, true.
29:30He feels the most established, the most healthy.
29:32Yeah, yeah, yeah, like that gives us seniority.
29:33Because in a way, it's his house.
29:35We're all visitors.
29:36We've come into it, yeah, yeah.
29:37Yeah, but yeah, I know what you mean, sitting in that single chair.
29:42That's why, man.
29:43Like a king.
29:47Well, it is all good, messy fun, but could some hijinks cause a stink that leads to a nomination?
29:52We will find out tomorrow.
29:54Coming up, it's all about the new nomination process.
29:58Do not miss it.
29:59Do you come out with this when you get...
30:02Yeah.
30:05Yeah.
30:05Yeah.
30:06So, you find out on Thursday when you're out for fiction.
30:09No, you get a week.
30:10You get a week before you do.
30:12Oh, really?
30:12To know each other probably.
30:13Well, I don't even know what to expect, hey.
30:14I wouldn't even try and plan what they're going to do.
30:16I don't want to nominate.
30:25I don't want to drop.
30:25I don't want to drop.
30:26I don't want to drop.
30:27Because if you live with people, you've got to like them or learn to like them.
30:29Mm-hmm.
30:30Full stop.
30:30And then you have to nominate them out.
30:32That's crap.
30:33Oh, I don't know what to wear on eviction nights.
30:37We're nothing at eviction.
30:39Yeah.
30:42Ah, yes, the nude nomination.
30:44How on earth did they guess?
30:46Welcome back.
30:47You're watching Big Brother, where every Monday, starting tomorrow night,
30:51housemates nominate each other so that you can vote someone out of the house.
30:55Now, Jess survived many nominations,
30:58which means she was popular with almost everyone except Big Brother,
31:01who she drove crazy every single week.
31:08I really don't want to have to do this because I love everyone.
31:13Jessica.
31:13Yes.
31:14Who do you nominate for two points and why?
31:16Okay, two go to Katrina because she sleeps the most in the afternoons.
31:21One point to Turkan because I heard her arguing with some of the housemates at certain times
31:29and I want more of a happy vibe.
31:31Alex for two points, just because I haven't had as in-depth a conversation with him
31:36as I have with some others this week.
31:38Why don't you nominate him for good reason or nominate someone else?
31:41Oh, I can't find anything else.
31:45Oh, I really do like them all.
31:48You have to nominate someone, Jessica.
31:49Oh, no, two points to Alex for making the pumpkin mash.
31:57It wasn't that nice.
31:58And one point to Turkan for pinching on the bum.
32:04And I'm going to go Brody because he doesn't rinse his plates after he finishes eating.
32:12You can't expect me to take you seriously, can you?
32:19No, probably not.
32:25Don't worry, Jess.
32:27Absolutely not.
32:28It's not shameful.
32:29It is.
32:30It's because you're a good and kind person.
32:32You just couldn't decide.
32:33Oh, no.
32:33Or because you're indecisive.
32:35We don't know.
32:35No, you're a good girl.
32:36It is now time to meet the man who knows more about Big Brother's thinking than anyone.
32:41Would you please welcome the man with the plan, one of Big Brother's executive producers,
32:46Peter Abbott.
32:47Peter, now you have a different nomination plan.
32:54You're not going to tell us what it is just yet, but you're going to tell us why you've changed it.
33:00It's about a couple of things.
33:01One, it's about the housemates' ability to be strategic.
33:05If we change the plans on them, they won't be able to sit inside and decide,
33:09well, that person's a threat and I'll behave this way in nominating them.
33:14They'll have to be more honest.
33:17Now, when are you actually going to tell them about the change in the plan?
33:21Will they be aware of this?
33:23They won't be aware until it happens.
33:25Ah.
33:26And I actually have a number of variations on the nomination plan,
33:28so even if they do become aware of it, they won't be aware of it for very long.
33:32You constantly want to keep them on their toes?
33:34Yeah, I do.
33:35All right, so you've given them two houses,
33:36you've given a different number of housemates entering each time,
33:40and this is another thing to make sure they never really feel comfortable.
33:43Well, or they can't outsmart the system, I think, is really what it's about.
33:47As you'd expect, nominations are approaching.
33:51Yep.
33:52For that, I need you to have a number,
33:54and to ensure that's fair,
33:56I'd ask you to reach into the box and select a ball.
33:59There's the camera.
34:02The hell?
34:0370.
34:0465.
34:0564.
34:0669.
34:08Oh, it's so easy.
34:1066.
34:1267.
34:1368.
34:1472.
34:1673.
34:1774.
34:1961.
34:2063.
34:2171.
34:2262.
34:23So now it feels like the house.
34:26Yeah.
34:26Yeah.
34:26Now, you have to tell us a little bit more.
34:33Will they be nominating, as they have done in previous years,
34:38it was two votes, wasn't it?
34:39Yeah, two points and one point.
34:41Who do you nominate to evict?
34:43But this year we'll have that,
34:45plus who do you want to stay?
34:48All right.
34:49Two points and one point.
34:51And what they won't know is how we're using that information.
34:54Carmel, as a psychologist,
34:56will this make a completely different impact for the audience
34:58if they know that the people they're looking at
35:01are actually being nominated for their value?
35:04I think because it's different from last year,
35:07I think they'll be picking people that they want to stay with in the house.
35:10Now, this will also help remind the audience
35:12of the value of somebody in the house.
35:15Yes.
35:16Or they make me laugh, or they cook the dinner,
35:17rather than they leave the toilet seat up.
35:20Or they sleep too much in the afternoon.
35:23Yes.
35:23Oh, who said that?
35:24All the pumpkin match.
35:25Oh, my God, Dan.
35:27The sausages, maybe you ought to kick me in.
35:29The viewers will also get the value
35:31of who is playing a very positive role within the house.
35:34So if you want someone to stay in the house
35:36because they help you,
35:37the viewers will get that information.
35:40So, Marty, I guess the viewers would have been hearing a lot about his name
35:43and what he does well and why he helps.
35:46So it's really good information for, I think, the viewers to get rather than guessing.
35:49And, Marty and Jess,
35:50do you think that this will stop some people from slipping under the radar?
35:53Because it is possible to sleep in bed all day long and not offend anybody.
35:57It is.
35:57And therefore stay in the house.
35:58Yeah, I think it brings forth an awareness
36:00of how the people are contributing to the house
36:03and also, you know, what kind of bonds are forming as well.
36:07I mean, it was pretty obvious with Marty and I,
36:09but then again it may do the opposite effect where the audience goes,
36:12well, those two are keeping together, let's split them up.
36:15Yeah, well, that was always your fear.
36:17We don't know what is going to happen.
36:19I was going to say it's all becoming clearer,
36:20but you've just made it a whole lot more here.
36:22It's clear as mud.
36:24Whatever the system,
36:25the most important factor in the whole nomination game
36:28is the human factor,
36:29how you get on with your fellow housemates.
36:32We'll take a closer look at all of the friendships,
36:34frictions, tensions,
36:35and who could get the flick after the break.
36:38You're all going to be tooting tonight.
36:52Toot, toot, tooting.
36:53There's two types of farts.
36:55One's sulphur and one's methane.
36:58Carlos would be a typical sulphur-smelling fart.
37:01How old am I?
37:02And I'm still giggling like a nine-year-old.
37:05We need to use all our resources
37:09to try and curb Carlos' flatulence.
37:12Fight jokes will never die, though.
37:13Fight jokes are eternal.
37:14They're awesome.
37:15I just did one.
37:17It went...
37:18Nobody likes, nobody likes,
37:20nobody likes a bogan.
37:23Oh, dear.
37:24Vincent lives in the land where boys fart and girls don't.
37:27That's weird.
37:27He's absolutely appalled.
37:30He's melted.
37:31He's never got into a relationship like we have.
37:34Well, even if you were locked in a lift for half an hour,
37:38there'd be some people you could deal with
37:39and some people you just couldn't.
37:41Maybe some would become lifetime friends.
37:44Well, it is the same in the Big Brother households.
37:47So let's catch up on who's cosying up with whom.
37:50Well, thank you for being such a great person already.
37:59It's made it easier, hasn't it?
38:01It has.
38:02I can't remember the last time I was so happy to meet someone.
38:06We're all different.
38:08It's great, isn't it?
38:09I love it.
38:09And there's no...
38:12Yeah, but it's only day two.
38:14It is only day two, yeah.
38:16How are you feeling, man?
38:18Cute.
38:20Don't know.
38:21Who did that?
38:22New shoes.
38:23Oh!
38:24It's such pointless information.
38:29You bored already?
38:30No, this is good.
38:31It's fun.
38:32They chose the right people for me to stay with.
38:34You guys are good.
38:34Yeah, cheers.
38:35It's funny how there's only one girl that's single and one guy that's single.
38:39I'll hook you up, bro.
38:40I'll put you in good work, yeah.
38:42You have this very sweet way of just saying whatever's on your mind.
38:45Hey, me?
38:46Yeah.
38:47Oh, no, that's how I get myself in trouble, boy.
38:50Saying what's on my mind.
38:52Yeah, but you say it with a gleam in your eye and it's sort of cheeky.
38:55I don't know.
38:57No, it's cool.
39:02Have you had a girlfriend?
39:03I made the assumption that you're not gay.
39:05No, I'm not gay and no, I don't have a girlfriend.
39:08Not gay and no girlfriend.
39:09Not gay, no girlfriend.
39:10Nice.
39:10This could prove to be something a little bit testy.
39:18No, it's better the other way, Pat.
39:20Turn around, I'm just confused enough.
39:21No, that's not happening.
39:22It's like, this hairdresser side of me, nice, sweet, and then this other person, he just doesn't care.
39:26I'll tell you what the other side is.
39:28Hey.
39:30Is he the other side?
39:33That's the other side.
39:34That's the other one.
39:35I think it's time.
39:36You make sure that I stay in that f***ing bed.
39:40You're staying in mine.
39:41I mean, I mean.
39:44Yes.
39:45Oh yeah, that's it.
39:47You got it, you got it.
39:48Where's my sonar?
39:49Straight away.
39:50Oh, you haven't been overseas, have you?
39:53You haven't flown over water.
39:54Well, are you going to take me?
39:55Are you going to take me?
39:56Yeah.
39:57Let's go.
39:57Alright.
39:58Just get the helicopter.
40:02Yeah.
40:02It's still really up.
40:05Yeah, by the end of the day, I'm just doing crazy stuff.
40:10So all the pretty girls are in the other house.
40:12No, not all of them.
40:15Not all of them.
40:22That's good.
40:23I don't want to jump in to be with someone I just met.
40:25No.
40:25Saxon.
40:26Oh no.
40:30Obviously.
40:31That was mine.
40:31Give me two seconds.
40:33Yeah.
40:34Two seconds.
40:34Definitely.
40:34Definitely.
40:34Well, there's been some touchy-feely action already.
40:42There's a lot of love in the living room, but it's not to everyone's taste.
40:46Some housemates would rather the boys would look, but not touch.
40:49And it's not who you'd expect.
40:53Ben, can you just start on your stomach?
40:55Thanks.
40:56I really appreciate it.
40:57Cook the meat first, and then you chuck this in later.
40:59Exactly.
41:00So you know.
41:01Thanks, Vince.
41:01Yeah, you tell us how, baby.
41:03Yeah, it's just over time.
41:04Vincent, not Vince.
41:06Oh, sorry.
41:07It's all right.
41:08What's the full name in the town?
41:10No, it's just Vincent.
41:12The pan's already really hot.
41:15Yeah.
41:15So.
41:17Oh, we've got a sticker.
41:20Do you want me to go?
41:20Okay.
41:21Yeah, I was going to spray every second one, but it looks like I was going to spray every
41:23one.
41:24Correct.
41:26I hate to be right, but there you go.
41:30I'm just trying to save you the...
41:32Heartache.
41:33Well, yeah.
41:34My learned friend, I think your allegations are insubstantiated, and would you please provide
41:41legal authority?
41:42Anyway.
41:44You can...
41:45Walk around my jockeys.
41:47I can figure him out, but...
41:56I don't think he's like most of us here, because we're all like, cool, fun, don't care.
42:01It feels like he's playing the game.
42:03I don't really like that.
42:04He's playing the game.
42:04Yeah, he's playing the game.
42:05I don't like that.
42:06I'm halfway through a conversation, and then I'm trying to tell a joke because I was going
42:09to be dirty.
42:10Well...
42:11I don't really want it to be.
42:12I've never heard a funny joke that's not dirty.
42:14I don't know why.
42:15I just... I enjoyed it. I picked it for a reason.
42:21Yeah, I don't know.
42:22You don't think it's...
42:23Now, that's spot right next to it.
42:24It's coming off.
42:25Do you have to piss in the same spot?
42:26Don't start moving around.
42:27I don't know why.
42:28I just... I enjoyed it.
42:29I picked it for a reason.
42:30Yeah, you stay in that spot.
42:31It's a wild pig.
42:32Yeah, because three months, you're going to need to piss in everywhere if you start moving
42:34around.
42:35Yeah, exactly.
42:36That's right.
42:37My undies are clean, alright?
42:38Do you want to see some film to me?
42:39I'll show you for a hand.
42:40I want to see you.
42:41You're a jerk!
42:42I felt really uncomfortable.
42:43I think it feels...
42:44A bit funny.
42:45Because he was going, mm, and doing all cute stuff, and I don't want him to do that.
42:51And I hate touchy, touchy, pictures.
42:53And I hate touchy, touchy, pictures.
42:54It's so cute.
42:55I love me.
42:56What's it?
42:57That's cool.
42:58I love you.
42:59This is a good one.
43:00It's a good one.
43:01I love you.
43:02I love you.
43:03I love you.
43:04And I hate touchy-touchy-pips and so today, I haven't let him, you know, do his growl and that sort of stuff
43:12Who asked you to speak? Oh
43:15Wow, so that is how we'll get in there
43:18Yeah, you're right. That's how we'll get in there. So what your opinion? Oh
43:34This is Big Brother. The hot water is now off. You won't break me
43:46Well, if that isn't a red rag to a bull, you are watching Big Brother and we'll be back after the break
43:51Oh, we may never meet again
44:08So let's get started
44:12And you will throw
44:17Your arms around me
44:21And we will throw
44:34Ah, the eighth Deadly Sin doing bad covers of great songs. Now, I'm sure every one of you has an opinion on who might be nominated for their goodness or for the fact that they should be leaving the house. Let's get our expert views right now. Now, Jess, I know.
44:51Considering I can do it myself
44:53Who do you think will nominate who? I know it's got a bit more complex for us briefly
44:58Have you got any thoughts? I think there's
45:01Quite a number of traits that are coming forward where people might get peeved off by them
45:05So if they're going to go that angle
45:08I think
45:09Carlo may suffer. I think Vincent now that he's come in he's taking a lot of control and I think in the square house
45:16People might vote against him, especially Irina and also darling, Belinda's turning off him a bit seeing Saxons come in so
45:23Vincent and Carlo, maybe
45:25Going for hours, really couldn't we?
45:27I'm sorry. No, we'll go to the roundhouse. What do you think of the roundhouse?
45:29Because I'm so rude, Marty. That was very good
45:31That was very good
45:33You better say something good, Marty
45:35Well, the roundhouse I think is a little harder
45:37You know so much of that
45:39There hasn't been much conflict yet in the roundhouse
45:41And I think there's some very strong bonds
45:43I think
45:45Joanne and Patrick
45:47Also they have a bond
45:49As well as Ben
45:51So they've got like a little triangle happening
45:53And I think everyone seems to be getting along well
45:55So it's going to be very difficult for them
45:57To be hurtful and nominate somebody
45:59So you never know what could happen
46:01Alright, very good answer
46:03Now Carmel, what about you?
46:05If people don't use the voting as a strategy
46:09To vote out the most threatening person
46:12Then I think Joanne and Saxon won't be voted out
46:15Won't be nominated
46:16Alright
46:17Now I can't ask you your professional opinion
46:19Can I?
46:20My professionalist opinion is that they're all fine
46:22They're all absolutely fine
46:23Well I have some quotes here
46:25Comments here from feedback really
46:27From the audience, so to speak
46:29That didn't make sense that sentence
46:30But never mind
46:31What has?
46:32In the roundhouse
46:33These are the predictions from some people in our audience
46:34Benjamin will fall in love with Joanne
46:37Joanne will fall in love with Patrick
46:39Yes
46:40Patrick will most enjoy Daniel's company
46:43Daniel will most enjoy Regina's company
46:46Leah is best suited to Daniel
46:48And Chrissy will be the most popular in the house
46:51But in the square house
46:53Everyone will nominate Carlo
46:55Except Saxon
46:57Who will nominate Claire
46:58And Belinda
46:59Who will nominate Vincent
47:00And apparently Vincent and Benjamin
47:02Will both nominate themselves
47:04As the most valuable person in their house
47:06So there you go
47:08Well
47:09Well
47:10Well
47:11Yes
47:12Now as you know
47:13It is all ultimately up to you at home
47:15You're the ones who vote
47:16So
47:17Whichever way the vote goes tomorrow
47:19The housemates are in for a week of worry
47:22There may be tantrums, accusations and meltdowns
47:24Tears, fears and cheers
47:26To be completely up to date
47:28You must watch The Daily Show at 7 o'clock
47:30And join me at 7.30 tomorrow
47:32As Big Brother reveals the final piece of this nomination puzzle
47:36And we cross live to the house to see the nomination votes cast
47:39Housemate by housemate
47:41Do not miss it
47:43A very big thank you to our guests
47:45Carmel Hill, Marty, Jess and of course Peter Abbott
47:49We will see you tomorrow night
47:51I'm Gretel Killeen
47:52You're watching Big Brother
