00:00I realized they're never going to protect you.

00:04I was terrified. I didn't want history to repeat itself.

00:18Because I'm from the States, you don't grow up with the same

00:22understanding of the royal family. And so while I now understand very clearly,

00:27there's a global interest there. I didn't know much about him. And so the only thing

00:32that I had asked her when she said she wanted to set us up was, I had one question. I said,

00:36well, is he nice?

00:37Brittany was centered around your ethnicity, Megan. When you realized that, what did you think?

00:58Of course, it's disheartening. It's a shame that that is the climate in this world to focus that

01:06much on that, or that that would be discriminatory in that sense. But I think, you know, at the end

01:11of the day, I'm really just proud of who I am and where I come from. I tried to warn you as

01:15much as possible. But I think both of us were totally surprised by the reaction after the first

01:23five, six months of when we had to ourselves of what actually happened from there.

01:36It happened a few weeks ago, earlier this month here at our cottage. It's a standard,

01:47typical night for us. It's a cozy night. It was what we're doing, just roasting chicken.

01:53Trying to roast a chicken. And it was just an amazing surprise. It was so sweet and

01:59natural and very romantic. He got on one knee.

02:06Never been thrilled like you've done on both of them. I hope they'll be very happy indeed,

02:24is all I can say.

03:06I know I haven't always got it right. But as far as this goes, there really was no other option.

03:20Our hope was to continue serving the Queen, the Commonwealth and my military associations,

03:25but without public funding. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible.

03:30We are just trying to embrace all of the quality time we get with our son

03:35right now and to not miss a single moment of his growth and development.

03:53I don't know how they could expect that after all of this time, we would still just be silent

04:00if there is an active role that the firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us.

04:17And I think that's what everyone else is saying.

04:19It's a thought that they have, but they're not even realizing.

04:30It's a story that we've got to tell the world.

04:33It's a story that we've got to tell our kids.

04:36There's a hierarchy of the family, you know, there's leaking, but there's also planting

04:48of stories.

04:49There was a war against Meghan to suit other people's genders.

04:54It's about hatred.

04:55It's about race.

04:56It's a dirty game.

04:58No one sees what's happening behind closed doors.

05:02I had to do everything I could to protect my family.
