00:03bill in Congress that could bring a permanent end to changing the clocks. So what would the

00:12The Sunshine Protection Act, which would make daylight savings time permanent across the

00:16country year round, was unanimously passed in the Senate back in March. The bill, however,

00:20has stalled in the House despite having support from both Republicans and Democrats. If the

00:26Sunshine Protection Act was passed and approved by Joe Biden, Americans would no longer have to

00:30change their clocks twice a year and instead the country would abide by daylight savings time all

00:34year. For context, that means the sun wouldn't rise until 8 30 a.m. some days. Supporters of

00:39the bill say the change would decrease seasonal depression while increasing economic activity.

00:44Opponents have cited religious reasons like wanting to do morning prayer reasonable hours

00:48and concerns over safety in the extra darkness. As of November 7th, there were only 15 days for

00:53the House to vote on the bill before this Congress closes.
