00:00Dylan Mulvaney has responded to the anti-trans backlash she received after partnering with
00:04Bud Light and Nike. Last week, the transgender influencer posted two Instagram posts sponsored
00:09by the brands, and criticism from conservatives was almost immediate.
00:12It's so sad because everything I try to put out is positive. It's trying to connect with others
00:19that maybe don't understand me. It's to make people laugh or to make a kid feel seen.
00:24On the Onward with Rosie O'Donnell podcast, she said she attributes the criticism to being young
00:29and only one year into her transition. Quote, I think going after a trans woman who has been
00:33doing this for 20 years is a lot more difficult, said Mulvaney. Maybe they think there's some
00:37sort of chance with me that they can, but I mean, what is their goal? She then called upon
00:40the LGBTQ plus community and allies to step up against the harassment trans people are facing,
00:45as well as the US states fighting to ban gender affirming care. Quote,
00:49this is a time for not only straight people, but we need to show up for us.
00:52It's all hands on deck. It's not a time to sit idle, said Mulvaney.
