Taipei Vigil for Children Killed in Israel's Gaza and Lebanon Campaigns

A vigil was held at Taipei's main train station to remember children killed and injured in Gaza and Lebanon as Israel's campaigns continue.

00:11plight of children in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

00:14To mark World Children's Day, celebrated earlier this week, people here say children and other

00:19civilians in those areas are caught in the middle of fighting between Israel and militant

00:23groups Hamas and Hezbollah.

00:25A recent report by the UN Human Rights Office says that as many as 70 percent of those killed

00:30in the war in Gaza are women and children, numbers disputed by Israel.

00:35Participants wrote down the names of the children killed in the conflicts and read aloud stories

00:39about them.

00:40Ibrahim was injured and received no treatment for five days in Gaza.

00:49He died a painful death.

00:53May he rest in peace.

00:56Organizers say it's difficult for stories about the violence in Gaza to break through

01:00in Taiwan.
