Special committee to be formed to tackle local rice shortage, says Mat Sabu

A special committee will be formed to address the ongoing shortage of locally produced white rice.  Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said on Sunday (Nov 24) that his ministry is collaborating with various parties, including the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry, to resolve the issue.  He added that the ministry is also promoting large-scale, Sekinchan-style padi cultivation to boost rice production.
