USDA Recalls 167,000 Pounds Of Beef Over E. Coli Concerns

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced a recall of approximately 167,000 pounds of fresh and frozen ground beef due to potential E. coli contamination. The recall follows an investigation by the FSIS and Minnesota health officials, who linked fifteen reported illnesses to the beef products. Affected items were shipped to restaurants nationwide. The FSIS urges restaurants to avoid serving the products and advises consumers to cook beef to 160°F to eliminate bacteria.
