00:00At 8 in the morning, when we met Justin, he didn't have a real name.
00:08His cellphone was ringing.
00:10His lunch was an online gambling.
00:14He kept on betting.
00:16He was getting lucky.
00:21But within a few minutes, his 500 pesos bet became zero.
00:30The day was just starting, and Justin was already lucky.
00:35According to Justin, he started gambling when he was just a kid.
00:39When I grew up, I was close to my career in San Lazaro.
00:46When we were kids, we were aware that we were the first to gamble.
00:54We were just kids.
00:55How old were you?
00:577 or 8 years old.
00:59We would bring our tickets to the casino.
01:05From just watching the gamblers, he slowly learned how to gamble.
01:12Slowly, I learned how to play card games.
01:19I learned it when I was a bit older.
01:24Until he was invited to join a physical casino.
01:29At first, I was just given 30,000 pesos.
01:33Then, I was the only one who went.
01:37What did you get for 30,000 pesos?
01:39My friend who was playing, won.
01:42He gave me money.
01:44He gave me balato.
01:47It's big.
01:48It's big, ma'am.
01:50When he saw that he won the casino,
01:54Justin couldn't help but fall for it.
01:58At first, I thought that money would be easy.
02:01I just joined the game.
02:03I had money.
02:04I did the same thing.
02:06I had money when I was playing.
02:09I was with other people.
02:11Sometimes, when the weather is nice, you win.
02:16But what he thought was a pure victory,
02:19in a blink of an eye, it turned into a series of defeats.
02:24How many times did you lose?
02:26A lot.
02:27It's like I lost everything.
02:30At first, it was just 20,000, 30,000, up to 50,000.
02:35In one day?
02:36Yes, in one day.
02:37Then, it went up to 100,000, up to a million.
02:41That's what I lost in one day.
02:43How did that happen?
02:44One million in one day?
02:46I brought cash.
02:48When our business was doing well,
02:50I brought cash.
02:51It was almost 4 or 500,000.
02:55Then, I brought some coins.
02:58I ran out of cash.
02:59I ran out of cash.
03:00Then, I stole the coins.
03:05He was in a car when he went to the casino.
03:08But when he got home, he just muted his phone.
03:12Because he ran out of cash,
03:14he couldn't do anything but steal his car.
03:18How much did you earn?
03:20And how much did you lose?
03:22I lost more than 7 million.
03:25And what I lost then,
03:28I almost wiped out everything I had.
03:33I didn't have anything left.
03:36Because of gambling,
03:37his relationship with his partner was affected.
03:41And eventually, they got divorced.
03:45When did your partner divorce you?
03:48Last year, ma'am.
03:50Two years ago?
03:51Yes.
03:52Why?
03:54Because of that, ma'am,
03:55maybe because he saw
03:58that no matter how good your business is,
04:00if your partner is like that,
04:02it's hard.
04:03That's what I understood from that part.
04:06If I'm wrong,
04:08if you're wrong,
04:10then yes, we earn a lot.
04:13But if you ask me to lose in a game like this,
04:16there's nothing.
04:18Justin's debt reached 500,000 pesos.
04:22This is where he found a way to stop gambling.
04:27But he was able to avoid gambling
04:30in a different way.
04:35I only play online.
04:37Like online...
04:38So, you stopped going to the casino,
04:41but you didn't stop gambling?
04:43No, not at all.
04:45No.
04:46I admitted to that.
04:47Where do you see online gambling?
04:51Well, ma'am,
04:52for my friends,
04:53because there are agents,
04:55for example,
04:56if you know that I gamble,
04:57they will send you there.
04:59That's where you will load,
05:01that's where you will say
05:03that's where you will load your account.
05:04We will deposit it.
05:05It's a true bank,
05:06but it can also be cash.
05:07But they say that it's not gambling,
05:10it's just like games.
05:12If you open your a**,
05:14all of that,
05:15they say it's just games,
05:16it's gambling.
05:17There's the online,
05:19maybe it's a rat, ma'am,
05:20in the casinos,
05:22there's everything.
05:23They just transfer what's in the casino,
05:25they will transfer it here online.
05:28High roller,
05:29if you call it Justin,
05:30or the one who bets a lot of money,
05:33if he admits,
05:34the total he lost in online gambling
05:36has reached a million.
05:40This is what you used to do?
05:41Yes, if you bet 5,
05:43it will become 56.
05:45Oh, like that?
05:46Yes, it will become 56,000.
05:48It depends.
05:49There.
05:50Oh my God!
05:51I maxed out,
05:52I loaded 80,000.
05:5480,000?
05:55Yes.
05:56It's just one game, ma'am,
05:58I will put it.
05:59There,
06:00I bet 70,000.
06:02Baseball.
06:03Why are you betting 70,000?
06:04Baseball.
06:05Baseball.
06:06My favorite is baseball.
06:09You will bet 70,000 for a game?
06:12Yes.
06:14Oh my God!
06:16And you bought a lot of that.
06:18A lot.
06:19So now,
06:20every time you open your cell phone,
06:22there's the temptation.
06:23There.
06:25There, exactly, ma'am.
