Neighborhood Cat Brings His Friends To Meet His Favorite Girl

'Stray' cat visits this little girl every day — then tells all his friends! ❤️ We talked to her mom about how they realized Waffles had a family, and what it was like to come home to his cat friends.

00:00We had a little orange kitty show up in our neighborhood and everyone was kind of trying to decide if he is stray, does he have a home.

00:07Good morning, sir.

00:10My daughter asked if we could start feeding him and we did.

00:16Pretty much every day he would stroll up our driveway and my daughter Coco would bring him out food.

00:22She'd wake up in the morning and look out the window and go...

00:25Waffles is here. Waffles is here.

00:32She fell in love with him.

00:38And we all did. Our whole family did and it became one of the most exciting parts of our day.

00:43But Waffles is here.

00:48After about a month or so we had him show up one day and he had a collar on.

00:53So that's when we realized Waffles is actually not a stray and that he has a home.

01:02We kind of started to form a relationship with the owner and now we kind of share a cat.

01:08His name by day is Waffles and then he goes home and settles down as Max.

01:14All of the neighbors around us know him and everyone's kind of keeping tabs on where he's at for the day.

01:20I fully believe that Waffles spread the word that this is the house to come to

01:25because I've looked out on my front walkway and there's cats laying out there, just laying out there.

01:34And Coco's named them all.

01:36What's this kitty's name?

01:37Tawny.

01:38Tawny?

01:41Is Tawny one of Waffles' friends?

01:43Yeah.

01:44I think so.

01:47So we're the second family for a couple cats, but Waffles is our main guy.

01:55He is magic. Waffles is pure magic.

01:57And what's inspired me to write my first children's book and publish it, it's been a dream come true.

02:05Beyond just having an outdoor cat that visits us,

02:08it opened up Coco's ability to understand what it means to care for an animal and to learn that responsibility.

02:15And it's given us such a cool keepsake that when she's older and she moved on and she has her own pet,

02:22she'll always remember this little orange cat named Waffles.

02:28And she has the book to remember it by.

02:33He means everything. We love him so much.
