00:00As the 2024 Ondo gubernatorial elections approaches, Adegoke Kendi Paul, Youth Party's

00:07candidate and also the youngest candidate contesting, speaks with The Guardian TV on

00:12his aspirations concerning the upcoming election. My interest in contesting the election

00:20is driven by my desire to bring genuine progress and responsible, respectful leadership to the

00:29people of Ondo. I've seen the challenges our people are facing. Our communities,

00:37from inadequate infrastructure to limited job opportunities.

00:43Our youth, for our youth, and I've believed that meaningful changes is possible with a clear vision

00:52and strong commitment. My goal is to create a government that listens and prioritizes

01:00transparency and I'm going to invest in the future of every Ondo citizens.

01:09This election is a chance to bring about the transformative change that our state truly

01:15deserves. This approach will allow us to respond swiftly to changes and puts our people at first,

01:24making us a genuine alternative for voters, seeking progress and transparency. I met with

01:32the governor, I received nothing from him, I'm still the authentic candidate contesting

01:42for the elections. It's an honor to represent the voices of the younger generations

01:47and bring fresh ideas to the table. I'm aware I have to prove a lot,

01:56but this opportunity inspires me to work harder and demonstrate that age does not have limits

02:03to leadership and it's a chance to show that the youth can bring new perspectives and solutions.

02:12We'll implement a transparent budget system to ensure funds are allocated efficiently and give

02:19the public access to track our progress. Youth empowerment is also a major priority. I will

02:26create programs to support skills development, job creation and entrepreneurship.

02:32We have contested the election in Lagos, Abia, Taraba and Taraba states, so this motivates me

02:41to join the race and to bring a proactive change in Ondo.

02:49If I emerge the winner, my goal is to create a government that listens and prioritizes transparency

02:58and investments in every Ondo citizen. My final words, my administration will bring

03:08active engagement with communities to ensure their voices shape our policies and priorities,

03:18creating a responsive government that genuinely serves the people of Ondo.
