00:00How would you describe the mood here in the capital city of Ondo State today?

00:03You know, sentiment apart, in Ondo State, we are peace lovers and we do not believe in

00:11violence and the history of election in Ondo State, I'm not making reference to what happened

00:18in the 80s, say 81, 82, 83, but as from 85 upward, I want to believe that Ondo State has been noted

00:26to be a peaceful state when it comes to electioneering and considering what has been

00:34taking place before now, as regard the election that is coming up tomorrow, the Ondo people,

00:43they are still very, very peace loving and they prove to be democrat, to be very honest.

00:50Would you be voting tomorrow sir?

00:52I should, it's my civic responsibility, I just have to.

00:56Who do you think would win this election?

01:00Really, I am seriously a political, but based on what has been the

01:11dictating elections, something in Nigeria and the name Ondo State, I think the power

01:19will surely come to play. You know, there is hunger in the country and Ondo State is not accepted.

01:29The PDP and the APC, initially they would be rubbing shoulders, but for the past 72 hours,

01:38it's like the APC have outrun the PDP in the state when it comes to campaigning.

01:45In terms of capacity, I know I didn't say this earlier,

01:49both the APC candidates, Agola Jayi and Nokia Iretuwa, have both served as deputies

01:53under late Rotimi Akere Ndulu. What do you think about this dynamic?

01:57The dynamism of Agola Jayi, you can never compare it with that of the incumbent.

02:05When we talk of a grass-rooted politician, I think Agola Jayi would make Ajay Datuwa to run for

02:14his money. But then, like I said earlier, you know, the issue of hunger. People are hungry and

02:20on average of our electorate, they are illiterate. So, they don't normally vote based on their

02:27conscience. You get the point. I want to believe that the issue of capital will play a very pivotal

02:35role in the election. Lastly, my last question to you, sir. How would you raise your trust in INEG?

02:42Our collective prayer in Nundu State is that what plays out in Edo should not repeat itself here.

02:52I want to believe that the INEG people, they still have that very

02:56ample opportunity to redeem their image. Because whatever you happen to see yourself doing today,

03:03you should remember that you are making history for yourself. And tomorrow, we prove that very

03:09the aspect of history that you would belong. I want to believe that they should do something.

03:14I seriously pray that Professor Mohammed, or what do you call him, should do something to make sure

03:20that INEG is purely neutral against the election that is coming up in Nundu State tomorrow.
