Have We Seen the Last of Trevor Lawrence?

00:02they're sitting there at two and eight.

00:03They're a 14-point underdog on Sunday,

00:06and then they have the bye week.

00:08Like, have we actually seen the last

00:10of Trevor Lawrence in 2024?

00:12Like, that's the question that I keep asking myself.

00:14It's a question I asked myself last week,

00:15and it's a question I'm still asking myself this week,

00:18because, like, let's just say the betting market

00:20is somewhat right, and the Detroit Lions win comfortably.

00:23Now you're sitting there at two and nine,

00:25heading into the bye week,

00:25which is probably the perfect time to fire Doug Peterson,

00:28if that's what the resolution's gonna be

00:29at the end of the year.

00:30You might as well just do it at the bye week

00:32and get a jumpstart on your head coaching search.

00:34So, like, you might not even have Doug Peterson

00:36coming out of the bye week.

00:37Like, what is the point of having Trevor Lawrence

00:39go out there with a banged-up left shoulder?

00:41Just go have the surgery.

00:43Make sure you're all good to go for 2025,

00:45and I'm assuming that surgery would probably put him out

00:48for the remainder of the year.

00:49So, I'm kinda watching this one rather closely.

00:51Like, I don't know if we're gonna see Trevor Lawrence again.

00:53I know he's a competitor, I know he's a tough guy,

00:55and he's gonna wanna go out there and play.

00:57Like, no football player ever wants to mail it in

00:59or tap in, unless you're Anthony Richardson,

01:01but, like, no football player ever wants to do that stuff.

01:03But in this instance, from an organizational standpoint,

01:06I think it's almost downright irresponsible

01:08if you put Trevor Lawrence back out there on the field

01:10because this has very, very quickly been a lost season

01:13for the Jacksonville Jaguars,

01:14and this is the guy that you just paid

01:16a boatload of money to in the offseason.

01:18You might as well protect him

01:19for the next coaching regime in 2025 and going forward.

01:23But from a betting standpoint, like, I don't know.

01:25I mean, it's two touchdowns,

01:27laying it with a team that is coming off

01:28a pretty dramatic win Sunday night

01:30against Houston in Detroit.

01:32So, I don't really like laying points

01:34the next week after a win like that.

01:36So, I think the only betting thing that you could take away

01:39is that maybe it's taking the points with Jacksonville,

01:41but I don't even wanna do that.

01:42Like, if I had to bet the game,

01:44I would plug my nose and bet plus 14,

01:46but I don't have to bet the game.

01:47So, I'm not gonna bet the game.

01:48I'm just gonna go ahead and pass the game.

01:50We'll watch and see what happens,

01:51but it's a complete pass for me from a betting standpoint.

01:53But I'm curious to see if we actually see Trevor Lawrence

01:56going forward out of the bye week

01:57the rest of the season for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
