Good morning, it's Debra at the Doncaster Free Press and it's Tuesday, November the 12th.

Just bringing you some of our headlines today in Doncaster.

First of all, we've got a county-wide one for you.

This week, South Yorkshire Police are taking part in SEPTA.

It's a national week of action for police forces across the UK

to show what they're doing to tackle and reduce knife crime in local communities.

The operation is running until Sunday, November the 17th

and officers will be showcasing their ongoing commitment

to reducing knife crime across South Yorkshire,

showing the work which goes on behind the scenes every day

and hopefully bringing dangerous weapons off the streets.

Then one matter that's going before Doncaster Council today.

Planning officers are recommending there's an application to build a caravan storage

on agricultural land in Doncaster.

They're recommending it to be refused.

The committee will meet today to determine the application,

which is to build a storage site for up to 642 caravans in Braithwell.

The problem being that it's a greenbelt land,

which is why the officers have recommended that refusal.

Finally, friends and family of a Doncaster woman who fell ill

whilst on holiday in Benidorm are raising funds through GoFundMe

to try and get her back to the UK.

Adworth Street resident Sarah Hone set up the donation page

after her friend Sally became poorly when she went on holiday to the Spanish resort.

She was actually celebrating her close friend's 60th birthday

when she left a hotel and collapsed and was admitted to hospital.

She does have COPD, but she was then diagnosed with pneumonia

and due to the severity of it, she had to be put into an induced coma.

She is on the mend as much as she can be at the moment,

but she is still stuck in Spain and it's going to cost a lot of money

to get her back home so she can get treatment in England.

They have set up a GoFundMe page.

It's already raised a lot of money.

They're hoping to raise £4,000.
