A local man who recently robbed an ice cream parlor in Pandamaran, Klang, has been sentenced to five years in prison and one stroke of the cane on three charges, with sentences to run concurrently.

In a statement on Sunday (Nov 10), South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong reported that the 46-year-old suspect has 14 prior records for criminal and drug-related offenses.

00:13In a statement on Sunday, South Klang OCPD Assistant Commissioner Cha Hong Fong reported
00:18that the 46-year-old suspect, who has 14 prior records for criminal and drug-related offences,
00:24was charged under Section 395-397 of the Penal Code at the Klang Sessions Court on
00:30October 30th.
00:32The suspect was arrested on October 24th at around 12.15pm in a house on Jalan Jagung,
00:39Pandamaran.
00:40Police also seized clothing and the machete used during the crime.
00:44ACP Cha explained that the incident was reported by a 16-year-old employee of the ice cream
00:51shop.
00:52According to investigations, two men armed with machetes entered the shop, where one
00:57suspect pushed a customer and seized two of her mobile phones.
01:02The other suspect then cut the wires of the cash register at the counter, stole it and
01:06fled the scene in a blue Proton Iris.
