00:00The first typhoon that hit Santa Ana, Cagayan,

00:03trees and electricity were cut down

00:06while some infrastructure was destroyed.

00:16In the midst of heavy rainfall and strong winds

00:21brought by the typhoon Marseille,

00:23the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office

00:29and other augmentation teams

00:32were forced to evacuate the town of Santa Ana, Cagayan.

00:36Authorities were forced to evacuate the residents

00:41who were the only ones who were able to rescue

00:44those directly affected by the typhoon on Wednesday.

00:48The police station in the town of Santa Ana

00:52where the doors and windows were destroyed

00:55was also not saved from the typhoon Marseille.

00:58The police were also forced to put up fences

01:01in case the strong winds brought by the typhoon cut them again.

01:06In an interview with Radyo Pilipinas,

01:08Santa Ana, Cagayan MDRMO Chief Marion Miranda

01:14called for additional assistance such as food and medicine

01:17to ensure that the supply for the evacuated residents will not be short.

01:22There are people in the barangay who are ready

01:26but because of the strong winds,

01:28I was the only one who was able to help.

01:31Here in the local level,

01:32we were not able to help because of the strong winds

01:35and the rain.

01:36We were just being carried away.

01:38According to DSWD Spokesperson

01:40and Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao,

01:43it was confirmed that the family food packs

01:46will continue to be delivered

01:48with financial assistance to various places in the country

01:51that were hit by the next typhoon.

01:53DSWD also plans to launch ready-to-eat food packs

01:59next month,

02:00which will be added to the family food packs

02:02that were delivered to the victims of the typhoon.

02:05If there's food,

02:06there's cooked rice,

02:08you just dip it in hot water

02:10and you could already serve that.

02:12There are also other items

02:16that are ready-to-eat food like biscuits

02:19and then food items for pregnant or lactating mothers.

02:22Currently, the Storm Chasers Team of Pag-asa

02:26is located in Gonzaga, Cagayan

02:29to provide real-time and accurate data

02:32regarding the Marseille typhoon.

02:34The Storm Chasers Team will stay in the area

02:37until the typhoon passes

02:38and there's no effect

02:40that could be felt by the Marseille typhoon.
