My name's Sanna Bridgewater and I live in Walsall up the road, I live with my cats and my partner.
00:08
I've thought of Webby Spoons, the pub, I really like it there, I love going there for a meal
00:14
and just having a cocktail with my friends and my partner. I like having the refillable drinks as
00:20
well, and I like having just like a catch up with people really, you always see the regulars in
00:28
there which is really nice. I would give the service a 10 out of 10 because the staff are
00:34
really nice and really easy to talk to as well, and they're always helpful. I would give the
00:40
drinks definitely a 10 because the cocktails are really nice and I would give the food,
00:51
I'd probably say about an 8, sometimes it's just my preference, sometimes I just don't like
00:56
a certain food or wherever, I just don't fancy it, but apart from that I just like Webby Spoons.
01:01
I would say what can be improved is the toilet, the cleanliness of the toilet,
01:08
just downstairs, the toilets are fine upstairs, just downstairs, that's it.
01:12
I think what would be a reasonable increase is probably like, even if it's like,
01:18
even 50p I wouldn't mind because I'd still go there, I'd still go there. What would put me off
01:22
is, I'd say yeah, if it was like a five hour or like four pound, I don't really drink much
01:27
end points anyway, but if the cocktails were a bit more then I probably would.
01:31
My name's James, I'm a philosophy student and I'm very interested in natural law
01:36
and that kind of thing. I'm from Ridgely in Staffordshire and
01:43
I'm sorry, oh, I'll be 27 next year. I love this building because it's like an old Freemason
01:48
Lodge and so you really get a lot of that energy when you come in here. The staff are like
01:52
excellent, I'm real friendly, I'm real professional and I love that smoking area a bit. I've seemed to,
01:58
over the past four years, I've always had some very, very nice sort of, met some really,
02:04
really fascinating people from all walks of life really, particularly interested in sort of the
02:11
coal miners and the ex-coalies that we meet in here. We always have some really wonderful
02:16
chats about that. I have to spend a lot of my time in the big garden and that's always the kind
02:20
of place where, you know, you tend to find less regimented groups out there and stuff, you know,
02:27
and if you sort of, you know, having the old chat and that, you always find the most fascinating
02:31
stories. You never know who you're going to meet and it's a great little, it's a great little hub
02:36
really, I think. Yeah, I'm happy that they've managed to maintain those prices and it has
02:40
provided us with, I suppose, in a sort of, in an age where like a lot of the sort of other
02:48
community hubs have sort of lost their sort of stead, it's managed to maintain sort of a positive
02:55
place for people to affordably go and find their social work. I think if, I can't speak for
03:01
everyone in the world's experiences of when they go to Spain, but I feel like any pub in general,
03:07
it's kind of like, as long as the prices aren't going like the sort of, as we see in other ones,
03:13
it's kind of like, the atmosphere is kind of like what you sort of stick with in certain
03:21
places and that kind of thing, do you know what I mean? I'm Pamela Roberts and I'm from Darliston
03:28
and my age is 66. The things I like about Wetherspoons, it is good for the money,
03:36
the food is absolutely spot on and you can get even a drink when you're eating, which sometimes
03:43
we can't afford when we go elsewhere, so I love Wetherspoons. The thing that could be improved is
03:49
like the families can go in at ease with like pushchairs or wheelchairs and stuff like that,
03:56
I find that very... Ease of access. Yes, ease of access. My thoughts on drink prices, on the increase,
04:05
I don't think it's going to be very much anyway with Wetherspoons because they are
04:09
good for their money and family, like I say, family treats out. If a pint cost me four quid,
04:18
I wouldn't be going. My name's Craig, I'm 28 years old and I'm from Walthamstow. The reasons I like
04:24
Wetherspoons are because it's easy to meet up with mates, great food, great atmosphere and
04:30
obviously cheap there. I think it would be weird to go to a town without a Wetherspoons.
04:35
The only negative thing about Wetherspoons is you can get a people that drink too much because
04:40
it's so cheap and then they want to start a fight with everybody. I think I'd still come to
04:44
Wetherspoons because it's still going to be cheaper than most of the pubs I use anyway.
04:47
The original increase in Wetherspoons, seeing as it's so cheap, I'd be happy paying it for 10, 20 quid.
04:53
My name's Wayne Dobson, I'm 39 years old and from Walsall. What I like about Wetherspoons is the
04:59
quietness and the relaxed, laid back atmosphere. It's nice to sit outside and have a drink even
05:08
though it's cold at the current moment in time. The atmosphere is great, the service is brilliant,
05:13
top notch. I'd say it's probably the second best in Walsall. I don't mind the increase but it's a
05:19
case of where you've got to sit, that hits my back pocket at the end of the day. Some people work,
05:27
some people don't. At the end of the day, 20p doesn't sound like much but at the end of the day,
05:35
that 20p builds up over a long term.
