Why is it important to still mark Remembrance Day?

Ahead of Remembrance Day, we found out why people believe it is important to mark the date and remember.

00:19I have family that landed on the beaches of Normandy, so it's important to me. But I have

00:27We pay our respects to those who gave their lives and sacrificed for this country so that

00:35we could be free and we will always remember them.

00:39All because my uncle and that one died in the war, and that's one of the reasons why.

00:46No, he's dead now, but no, he was in the First and Second World War. So, yeah, that's why

00:53I remember him.

00:56I've noticed a lot of the youngsters coming along. My grandson has taken a particular

01:01interest. He's been helping on the stall and he's about to lay a wreath on Remembrance Day.
