00:00My name is Martin Petrov and I'm the festival director of World of Film International Festival, Glasgow.
00:05World of Film started 11 years ago. It was supposed to be a one-off event and then here we are, 11 years later.
00:13I'm really happy with how the festival has evolved over the years and we've incorporated different new sections.
00:20I'm very proud of our Balkan focus where we showcase Eastern European cinema,
00:25which is not necessarily something that people see very often in festivals around Glasgow and Scotland.
00:34We also have our Real Tasty experiences which combine food and film.
00:39They are very interactive and very interesting for the majority of our audiences
00:44to discover new film and independent film in a different way.
00:48Also, of course, our female perspectives and also the shorts competitions which have been very successful over the years.
00:57One thing that we're also expanding on for the last few years and even more this year is our education program.
01:05We work directly with schools where we program different sessions,
01:11whether that's animation workshops or costume design workshops like we have this year.
01:18Also screenings which are age-appropriate and we have various schools, various demographics
01:25from different places around Glasgow coming to see those films and attend the workshops.
01:31That way we're encouraging more incorporation of education into the curriculum.
