00:00Seven suspects in the sale of registered SIM cards were found in the separate operation of PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group.

00:25These individuals are responsible for the arrest of PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group members
00:32because of the sale of registered SIM cards.
00:35In the next entrapment operation of PNP ACG in Valenzuela, Quinta
00:41Quezon City and Manila, seven suspects were arrested.
00:45According to PNP ACG, after receiving the information
00:49that the sale of registered SIM cards in various social media was in vain.
00:54They post online who is interested.
00:57And whoever wants to buy will send through messenger.
01:02In the said operation, up to 400 SIM cards were recovered by the authorities.
01:08Its value is P14, up to P3,500.
01:13According to the initial investigation, the illegal activities of the suspects are more than a year old.
01:20First of all, the sale of registered SIM cards is prohibited in our law, in the SIM Registration Act
01:27and also in the AFASA or Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act.
01:32Since these financial accounts, once we sell them,
01:38if it goes to cybercriminals, it can be used as a scam.
01:42It can be used as a text scam or it can also be used to create a social media account
01:51and it can also be used for scamming activities.
01:54Currently, PNP ACG has arrested seven individuals, including three women and four men.
02:02They also refused to comment until the complaint was filed against them.

02:20These people will face charges under RA 12010 or Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act
02:27and Section 7 of RA 11934 or Subscriber Identity Module Registration Act
02:34in relation to Section 6 of RA 10175 or Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
02:41What we can see here is that it can be 6 years and 1 day to 12 years
02:46since when the ICT was used or we entered the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012,
02:52the penalty will be one degree higher for the violators.
02:57PNP ACG is now targeting the suppliers of SIM cards.
