00:00We know this is an incredibly important election, not just to we Americans, but as one of the students said tonight,
00:07what happens on one side of the ocean is incredibly important to everybody on the other side of the ocean.
00:13So there's a big responsibility in that and what an opportunity to celebrate not only democracy,
00:19but also to celebrate the incredibly strong relationship between the United States and Italy.
00:26Voting is the key to democracy and people who have the fortune to live in democracies need to exercise that right.
00:37And I think we've seen in this election there's been so many people voting early and that shows a certain enthusiasm
00:46and it shows as much as we listen to the pundits and the experts, at the end of the day what they say doesn't matter so much.
00:54What matters is what the people do and this is that very important moment when everybody has to listen to the people.
01:01Last time it took several days for it to be clear, we don't know how long it will take this time,
01:07but let's just say there are a lot of people who are very focused.
01:10I saw videos today of people already counting the votes in Arizona and other places.
01:15Every state has its own way of doing things, but in a democracy and in a republic that's the way it works.
