00:03An historic Derbyshire bank is up for auction with a guide price of £600,000 three months

00:09after gaining approval for conversion into flats.

00:12The former RBS bank located on Snitterton Road in Matlock was granted permission by

00:17Derbyshire Dales District Council for conversion into 16 flats earlier this year.

00:22Now the substantial property is due to be auctioned off by SDL Auctions on November

00:2721st with a guide price of £600,000 or more and the auction firm referring to the site

00:32as a superb investment opportunity.

00:36The advertised auction details that parts of the grounds are rented out as car park

00:40bringing in £27,000 a year with rent of £15,000 per year and garages are rented for £12,000

00:47a year.

00:48Councillors approved plans to turn the historic Grade 2 listed former bank opposite Matlock

00:52Bridge into 4 flats while 12 further flats were built in an extension, replacing a 1950s

00:59extension.

01:00This has brought to an end years of to-ing and fro-ing over the prominent site's future

01:04with previous plans for apartments rejected in 2021 and rebuffed at appeal in 2022.

01:12Bowlesover District Council is encouraging its residents to recycle more as they look

01:16to reduce the amount of waste that is sent to landfill.

01:20Over recent years the council has added more types of waste that can be recycled and made

01:24it easier for people to recycle by using their burgundy bin.

01:28The council's burgundy bin recycling scheme has a 93% satisfaction rate but the latest

01:33figures show a combined recycling and composting rate of 38% which dropped from 41% pre-Covid

01:40and is considerably lower than the best performing councils who recycle and compost over 60%.

01:46To help combat this the council will be launching a new marketing campaign over the coming months

01:51to educate people on the benefits of recycling and raise awareness of what can be placed

01:55inside their burgundy bin whilst also improving access to recycling information on their website.
