00:00Miami is a perfect 8-0 for the first time since 2017 and today back in South
00:09Florida booked as nearly a three touchdown favorite against Duke. Manny
00:13Diaz revenge spot? Perhaps run out of South Florida for Mario Cristobal? Does
00:20that factor into the narrative for today? The Blue Devils last weekend at home
00:25catching 11 and a half points from SMU had a positive plus six turnover margin
00:30and still found a way to lose that football game at home in overtime. They're
00:35catching three touchdowns today on the road against Miami but the Hurricanes
00:40have been impressive. A perfect 8-0 covered in their first three FBS games
00:46have only covered once though in their last four. How do you see the spread for
00:50today with the Canes taking on the Blue Devils? So I've gone back and forth quite
00:54a bit on this number because I do think under 21 is a really nice number for the
01:00Hurricanes right? I mean they laid a touch over that to Florida State. Duke
01:05and I know Duke did win that game but I think they're around comparable
01:08opponents there so getting under it is pretty tempting. I think Miami's offense
01:13should be able to do whatever they want really. The Duke defense can't stop the
01:17run and Cam Ward is Cam Ward. Then the Manny Diaz stuff started to beat me up a
01:22little bit here because I do believe that there are certain teams who find
01:25themselves in Super Bowl style spots where this is our season and I'm not
01:29sure Manny Diaz will want any game more than this one. He's not going to get it
01:34but if you go out there and give it your absolute best then you can stay inside
01:38three touchdowns all of a sudden. Especially when you're a defensive coach
01:42right? Because you can really key that side of the football. Then I started to
01:47worry though that Manny Diaz is a dead man walking because he's going up
01:50against Cam Ward coming off of his first, if you will, bad game of his season. He
01:55caught a touchdown. Cool. He didn't throw for any. He had thrown for two in every
01:59single game at minimum this year. He's thrown for three plus in all but one
02:03prior to last week. It was the first time he didn't throw for 300 yards. Now I
02:07don't have trends that are telling you that Duke can't stop the pass. I don't
02:11know who the best quarterback Duke has played. I guess Jennings last week. They've
02:14played nothing of the caliber of Cam Ward. Again you can tell these are the
02:19ramblings of a madman who can't figure out confidently how to attack this game.
02:23Where I likely will settle up is just playing a Cam Ward bounce back. Miami
02:28wants this kid to win the Heisman. That means passing touchdowns. If you make me
02:33make a bet my favorite would be Ward over two and a half passing scores. It's
02:37a good look in regards to that. We know they could put up points on everybody.
02:41They've not been contained all season long in regards to the offense. I
02:46will say a bright spot for Miami. Ben you know I've been on Miami and back to
02:50back weeks has been the rushing attack. You know we saw Fletcher do it and
02:54Martinez against Louisville. They backed it up last week as well.
02:57Martinez a buck 48 on the ground. Two touchdowns. They're averaging now well
03:01over 190 yards per game to take some of the pressure off of Cam Ward. Back five
03:07weeks ago Cam Ward was averaging 405 yards per game. He's down to 366 so
03:14there's more offensive balance. Duke's secondary is pretty good though. They're
03:17giving up a buck 66 through the air. 57 percent completion percentage. Where
03:22their week was last week's SMU pounded for 4.2 yards per carry and 211 on the
03:28ground. Again I would take the points because of Malik Murphy. I think he's
03:32good enough to keep them within this number. Miami wins but Murphy 295 last
03:37week with three totties. I think he'll keep them and score some points. Give me
03:41Duke with the number.
