Sydney could soon send its rubbish to regional NSW

Sydney is expected to run out of landfill space by 2030 which means it could be transported to regional NSW or interstate.

00:05Sydney has a garbage problem. It's estimated the city will run out of

00:10landfill space by 2030, which means their trash could be transported to the

00:17regions or interstate at the expense of Sydney's signers.

00:33The state government is looking to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill by

00:38growing recycling rates and mandating the collection of food and garden

00:42organics, FOGO, for businesses and households. Taking action on chemicals

00:49in food packaging is another focus as they contaminate FOGO collections.

00:55New South Wales' first waste infrastructure plan is set to finalise a waste levy review.
