00:00A new survey by digital car finance lender Carmooler has revealed that as many as 36%
00:07of Brits think older drivers' licenses should be revoked due to what they called old age.
00:13The nationally representative survey, which was conducted on 2,000 adults, also found
00:18that a fifth of Brits believe that drivers should be required to retake their driving
00:22practical and theory tests every 10 years.
00:25A stark divide between older and younger generations was clear in the research, with
00:2911% of Brits thinking that licenses should be withdrawn once drivers reach 70 years old.
00:35Interestingly though, according to data from Gov.uk, in 2022 around a fifth of all killed
00:41or seriously injured casualties from collisions involving cars were in collisions which involved
00:46a young car driver. Alternatively, drivers aged 50-59 were involved in 12% of reported
00:53road accidents in the UK.
00:55But what do you think? Do you think age-based limits should be set for drivers?
