00:13Forty-six-year-old Mohamed Nizam Abdul Ghani pleaded guilty to three charges of using falsified
00:18approval letters for the Darjah, Pangkuan Seri Malacca, DPSM, which carries the title
00:24of datuk to deceive three individuals into thinking he could secure the awards for them.
00:29The offences were committed at a residence in Taman Paya Rumput, Pedana at 11.06pm on
00:36September 21st.
00:39The charges were framed under Section 471 of the Penal Code and punishable under Section
00:44468, which carries a maximum sentence of seven years' jail and a fine upon conviction.
00:51The court granted bail of 7,000 ringgit with one surety and fixed December 4th for sentencing.
00:59In a separate proceeding, Mohamed Nizam's associate, Shahrizad Sahauddin, claimed trial
01:04to a charge of allegedly forging the documents involving the same individuals at the same
01:08time and place.
01:09He was charged under Section 465 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum jail term of
01:14two years, a fine, or both, upon conviction.
01:19The court set bail at 4,000 ringgit with one surety and fixed December 12th for next mention.
