00:00The U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has been speaking just over an hour ago.

00:04In fact, it was in Tel Aviv.

00:05He says he sees some progress with Israel into allowing aid into Gaza,

00:10and he said the U.S. fully rejects any occupation of Gaza by Israel.

00:15He also urged Israel not to respond strongly to the attack on it by Iran.

00:19Let's hear exactly what he had to say.

00:22It's also been an imperative for us to try to make sure that this conflict doesn't spread.

00:27We are resolute in our defence of Israel.

00:28When it comes to attacks, it's receiving from Iran, from Iran's proxies.

00:33And we stand with Israel, and we'll always stand with Israel in its defence.

00:38It's also very important that Israel respond in ways that do not create greater escalation

00:46and do not risk spreading the conflict.

00:48With Hezbollah and Lebanon, we're working intensely to reach agreements.
