00:00On the occasion of the 123rd anniversary of the Philippine Coast Guard,

00:05President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. gave the PCG

00:10because of the unparalleled contribution to the protection of the territory of the Philippines.

00:15That is the message of Kenneth Paciente.

00:20President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. recognized the unparalleled role of the Philippine Coast Guard

00:25in protecting the territory of the Philippines.

00:28That is in accordance with the 123rd anniversary of the institution.

00:33According to the President, because of the changing times,

00:36the PCG is not just a simple force in patrolling the waters of the country.

00:41Instead, its responsibility has become broader,

00:44including patrolling the borders,

00:47enforcing marine laws,

00:49and responding to calamities.

00:51Indeed, your emergence as a key player in our nation's maritime security

00:57reflects your commitment to service

01:00and exemplifies how to advance while remaining true to your core mission.

01:06You protect our maritime borders,

01:09standing resolute in the face of those who would exploit our resources or threaten our way of life.

01:15The President also approved the contribution of the PCG

01:18in enforcing the law against illegal fishing

01:21and to prevent the destruction of the natural resources of the Philippines.

01:26That is despite the changing times,

01:29as well as the high geopolitical tension,

01:32the isolation and dangers in the middle of the ocean.

01:36You are the vigilant stewards of peace and order upon our seas,

01:40ensuring that the rule of law prevails across our waters.

01:44In the face of tension, it is your calm resolve

01:48that prevents disputes from turning into conflicts,

01:51demonstrating to the world

01:53that embracing dialogue and cooperation is the true essence of strength.

01:59This is manifested as well by our awardees

02:02to whom I express my gratitude and my deepest congratulations.

02:07There is no word and gesture that can match the service of the PCG.

02:11That is why the President assured that the government will continue its efforts

02:16to improve and provide the needs of the PCG.

02:20This administration reaffirms its support to efforts that will improve your fleet

02:25and our air assets as well,

02:27to maritime domain awareness,

02:29weapons capability and necessary infrastructure development.

02:33This will boost your capacity to respond to any operations.

02:38Be assured, you're never alone in carrying the weight of this mission.

02:42The PCG assured that it will maintain the integrity of the institution

02:46and ensure that it will not neglect its duty to safeguard the territory of the Philippines.

02:51At the same time, we thank the Executive Board

02:54for the support it provides to the Coast Guard.

02:57Our heartfelt gratitude for your unparalleled wisdom,

03:01your guidance and inspiring leadership,

03:04and hands-on support,

03:06including in the acceleration and expansion of our modernization programs,

03:11in order for us not only to survive but to thrive

03:15in the age of AI and autonomous technology.
