00:00The country's Department of Environments and Natural Resources called for cooperation from the local governments in fighting illegal mining,

00:11as well as in dealing with the effects of disaster and calamity.

00:20The Police Regional Office 9 has persons of interest in the arrest of an American national in Cebuco, Zamboanga del Norte.

00:30The victim, Elliot Eastman, was identified as a 26-year-old man who had been in the country for five months.

00:37Based on the investigation, Eastman was arrested inside his home by four armed men who were known to be law-abiding citizens.

00:47But the robber suddenly ran away, so he was shot in the leg and was taken aboard a boat.

00:53The most important thing here is the swift and sure investigation. We need to know who the group we are chasing is.

01:01It is also very important that we rescue our victim.

01:08Four years ago was the last time we had an abduction incident here.

01:12For now, there is nothing for our countrymen to worry about here in the area, especially in Zamboanga del Norte.

01:17We have in-place security in the area.

01:20The hot pursuit operation of the police continues.

01:24Their investigation continues on the true identity and motive of the robbers.

01:31They are still not cooperating with the robbers and are not asking for any demand or ransom money.

01:37The PNP is also cooperating with the U.S. Embassy.

01:41The PNP is actually pursuing the group of abductors while our other forces are ensuring peace and order in our affected areas.

01:52The anti-kidnapping group of the Mindanao Field Unit Team is also with the family of the victim,

01:59where they are also monitoring for any possible contact to our abductors.

02:07Meanwhile, PNP Chief Romel Francisco Marvil ordered a swift investigation and rescue of the abductor.

02:15The Armed Forces of the Philippines is also cooperating in the search for the victim.
