00:00The anti-kidnapping group of the PNP is now investigating the case of kidnapping of a Chinese national in Barangay Tibagan, Bustos, Bulacan yesterday early in the morning.
00:10Based on the initial investigation, it appears that the victim is involved in illegal smuggling.
00:16The PNP also confirmed that the victim has already paid a ransom of less than 5 million pesos.
00:22The victim and other Chinese nationals are being investigated by around four armed men.
00:30According to the report, the victim's live-in partner went to Bustos Municipal Police Station and said that the victim's cousin received a text message from the suspects asking for a ransom of 300,000 US dollars.
00:47For now, the police is continuing the intelligence gathering to track down the suspects and rescue the victim.
01:17We are working with our foreign counterparts to at least trace where the ransom of more or less 5 million pesos was paid in two tranches.
