00:00Time for some racing, though, here in Austin.

00:03It's lights out, and away we go.

00:06Verstappen and Russell get away quite evenly.

00:08Charles Leclerc gaining on George Russell.

00:10Verstappen's taking the inside line down towards Turn 1.

00:13Verstappen from Russell, round the outside comes Carlos Sainz,

00:17gets a bit bogged down.

00:18Lando Norris, from fourth on the grid,

00:20goes wheel-to-wheel with George Russell,

00:22down the hill, and gets into second place.

00:25And that's exactly the start that Lando Norris needed.

00:28Russell was very slow releasing off the top of the first corner

00:31as an Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso goes across the gravel.

00:35And then Lando braved it out around the outside,

00:38and that gave him track position for Turn 3.

00:41And he looks to have a pace advantage as well

00:43as he picks up the slipstream as into the next braking zone we go.

00:46And Charles Leclerc down the inside on George Russell.

00:49Great move from the Ferrari driver.

00:51Can he hang on? Because he went a bit too deep.

00:53He's got the inside line into the next corner,

00:55and I think that might just help him out.

00:57But Russell is sticking to this absolutely beautifully.

01:00Now he has the inside line and holds on to that third place.

01:04But for how much longer?

01:05He's already taken two tenths out of that advantage

01:07as here come the two Ferraris.

01:09They've both got DRS.

01:10Carlos Sainz getting pretty racy.

01:12Charles Leclerc on the inside, hangs on to fourth place.

01:15Sainz, though, gets a really good exit,

01:17and we're going to see a fight between the two Ferraris,

01:19I think, now for the rest of this race.

01:21Lewis Hamilton's done a stunning middle sector on this lap,

01:24and George Russell did a great first sector.

01:26And down the inside goes Carlos Sainz on Charles Leclerc,

01:29but he's gone too deep.

01:30Leclerc gets that place back again.

01:32No team orders down at Ferrari.

01:34It's wheel-to-wheel action between the two Scuderias.

01:37George Russell on his own in third place.

01:39The two Ferraris separated by a few metres.

01:42There goes Carlos Sainz down the inside.

01:44Leclerc knew he was coming.

01:46It's the old switcheroo, isn't it, for Charles Leclerc?

01:49And back into fourth he goes.

02:17sees Carlos Sainz coming,

02:19and thinks, now I'm going to have to try and sort this out,

02:21because I was going to try the switcheroo,

02:23but it's not quite worked.

02:24Leclerc went off the track.

02:26Sainz is now ahead of him.

02:27This time he might make that one stick.

02:30He's gaining on Norris.

02:32Norris wants to force him wide round the outside.

03:34so there's an argument going on down there,

03:35back in the field.

03:36And the stewards are looking at Piastri and Gasly

03:39for forcing another driver off the track.

03:41Alpine and McLaren.

03:42I'm amazed they can tell the two apart, quite frankly.

03:44And Fernando Alonso lost a place there

03:46to Esteban Ocon in that movement.

03:48Ocon's got ahead of Lawson.

03:49Yeah, Ocon overtook two cars with that.

03:51And there was the clash.

03:53A lot of high-speed corners,

03:55and then you get this much more technical section.

03:58And there he goes.

03:59At the inside,

04:00Carlos Sainz grabs track position.

04:03And Russell off the track needs to yield, does he?

04:12And there goes Charles Leclerc doing to George Russell

04:15what Carlos Sainz did to George Russell.

04:17Three and a half miles previously.

04:19That was a carbon copy of one Ferrari overtaking a Mercedes.

04:24It's happened twice,

04:25and Russell's down to fifth.

04:27Here comes Sergio Perez behind Yuki Tsunoda.

04:30Perez in the Red Bull seat.

04:32Tsunoda wouldn't mind that for next season.

04:34And he didn't really defend too hard,

04:37but might fancy his chances to get back again.

04:40Maybe felt that Perez would go a little bit too deep,

04:42but he could get that place back again.

04:43But that's not how it panned out

04:45as he goes down the inside.

04:46Yuki Tsunoda rather caught Sergio Perez napping there.

04:50The Red Bull's got better traction

04:52coming out of that left-hander,

04:53but they're going to go almost side-by-side

04:56through the triple apex.

04:57Perez stays ahead,

04:58but I don't know how much longer he's going to stay ahead for.

05:01Tsunoda is not going to give this one up.

05:03Both on Russell and Hamilton.

05:05Hamilton slightly was closing on Russell.
