Tarnoc heating pumb is a system that sucks air from the environment and turns it into hot air that can heat an entire house. It's gas-free, sustainable and eco-friendly.

00:00About 50% of all energy in the EU is used for heating and cooling buildings.

00:12This has an enormous environmental impact.

00:16The Tarnok heat pump can significantly reduce the CO2 output of heating homes.

00:31Tarnok is developing a one-on-one replacement for gas boilers in households.

00:37We are standing here next to our prototype of our heat pump.

00:42We have developed this over the past year. We have been testing this inside this home.

00:46The Tarnok heat pump has enough power and can deliver high temperature,

00:51so it can replace the gas boiler without any major changes to the household.

00:57The heat pump has an air inlet and an air outlet.

01:01It uses a centrifugal compressor to suck in the air inside of the machine,

01:05where it compresses the air.

01:07Then, due to the compression, the air becomes warm,

01:10and it can give off its heat to the heating system.

01:13Then it goes back through a turbine, expands, and the air cools back off

01:18and gets blown outside of the house.

01:20This system makes it possible to efficiently heat a home without the use of natural gas,

01:26thus saving a lot of CO2.

01:30The heat pump heats the home entirely using electricity.

01:33This electricity can be generated using solar panels or wind turbines.

01:44Tarnok wants to make it possible for many households to get rid of natural gas heating

01:49and go entirely green.
