00:07Great start by Ash Sutton who gets the jump on Dan Roboter, but Jake Hill comes between the two, there's contact, Sutton gets all sideways, he's on the grass, he's having a big, big moment, Jake Hill takes over the race lead.
00:18But Sutton just got tagged by Jake Hill who put him into a tank slapper, and the small hatchet down at the old air bin.
00:24All the Fords ganging up, a slow start by Robo that really triggered it all.
00:28Yeah it was, he was slow away which gave Jake Hill the run, and Jake had no option but to go across the left just as Ash Sutton started to close the door.
00:37He goes initially straight to get the traction, and once he's rolling he moves over, but there's the contact, he keeps his foot hard in, has to lift out as the tank slapper gets bigger and bigger.
00:48But everyone, literally every time you hit the brakes you're just not sure whether you've got the braking capability or not.
00:54One of the one motor sport cars goes off, can they keep it going? They can.
00:59It's not going to be quick to clear that car, it will need a lift.

01:56Yeah, to get the third race of the day for the Touring Cars back underway.
02:00And a big, big spin as a round goes out of Morgan, and he takes Sam Osborne with him.
02:04And that's before they've got to the green flag, that does not tend to go down well with races.

02:39Through the double apex right of Coppice, there's more drama at Redgate.
02:44And that's Mikey Doble, possibly getting a tap off George Gamble, but the damage on...
02:49Oh, Jelly's had a spin, going up towards Coppice.
02:55And this was Ash Sutton diving up the inside of Tom Ingram at the last corner.
03:00Ingram falls off the road.
03:02Did he gain an advantage by that? Well, he was rather, too, but it's much wetter now than it was a few hours ago.
03:07That was Aidan Moffat's big, big drama.
03:09Didn't hit anybody, but has now got to scrabble his way.
03:12I think we have a replay of what happened with Nick.
03:15Oh, it was with one of the Toyotas.
03:19Arguing over the apex of the corner.
03:21And off goes Nick.
03:23Now, whether one was on a warm-up lap, a slow lap, and there was a miscommunication,
03:27this is the Ricky Collar one.
03:29Look how wet it is. Sorry, Rory Butcher won.

03:36And this is what he did wrong. Just understeered off, didn't he, at the bottom of Graham Hill.
03:39Well, it's not the understeer, David. It's just being unable to stop the car.
03:43Just locked up and gone wide. This is, again, at Paddock Hill Bend.
03:48Toyota, everybody's having a problem. That's both Toyotas, actually.
03:52Right, so let's just remind you why we've got this red flag.
03:55This was part one, which was Nick Hamilton having a spin.
03:59No damage done. Kept it out of the gravel as well.
04:02And then he waits for a gap in the traffic to try and rotate the car and accelerate away.
04:07And while he waits, and waits, and waits, here comes Adam Morgan.
04:11The back just breaks away. Morgan goes around like a top, and boom.
04:15And once the car started spinning, it was almost like his spinning inertia speeded it up.
04:20Third red flag. Will Powell will lose his best lap time.
04:24He was 26th of the 27, anyway, so he will be towards the back of the grid.
04:29And this is what happened. Up to Druids. Locks up.
04:32On he goes. Way too late.
04:34And once you lock up, the car just doesn't slow down.
04:37It shows you how much you rely on those...
04:39Sam Osborne here coming up to clear ways, Tim.
04:42Coming up to get to a difficult break here. You...
04:44Oh, same thing. He locked the brakes so early that the speed just doesn't get scrubbed off.
04:51He got wide, got on the wet grass. No way of stopping the car.
04:55And backwards into the tyres. Fortunately, it only resulted in a temporary yellow.
05:00He rode a pad at once. He briefly had two wheels on the gravel at clear ways. Here it is.
05:05Yeah, different version of the accident. He never even got the car slowed down on the way in.
05:10He did remarkably well to just gradually turn the car.
05:14No one faster on that last lap.
05:17So, have they had the last roll of the dice?
05:19That's Andrew Watson very wide, but gets it back.
05:23Let's try and piece it all together. Look in the background.
05:25Turkington leads up to the line.
05:27And already sideways across the road is Gelli.
05:29Rowbottom gets turned across into Morgan.
05:31Gelli gets hit again. Watson goes off in avoidance.
05:34But we didn't really see the trigger, but you can see what the outcome is.
05:37Yeah, and Gelli was fortunate. Oh, there's the Rowbottom and Gelli.
05:40That was the start of it, wasn't it?
05:42The others were actually taking avoiding action.
05:44Gelli very lucky not to get caught again as he rolled back.

05:50Right, Rowbottom goes for a gap.
05:52Tags Gelli, who hits the barrier, comes across and then snares Rowbottom,
05:55who then gets hit by Watson.
05:57So, Steve and Gelli was a real pinball there, being hit from all sides.
06:01The instant kicks off here.
06:03Hamilton checks up well, reads the situation very nicely,
06:08and just gets through, as I think that was Nick Halstead coming through.
06:13Looks like Sam's going to try a lunge up the inside.
06:16Look at Cook, the wily Cook on the outside.
06:19Sees the gap coming, he saw the move coming,
06:22cuts across to the inside and passed them both.
06:26Hasn't really worked out for Jake Hill, has it either?

07:46is the driver that caught the most of the damage.

07:50We've seen Colin Turkington off.
07:52That was Adam Morgan's moment.
07:54And from another angle, saving the day from Dan Lloyd.
07:58A World Rallycross career beckons if ever he gets bored with touring car racing.

08:10Will Powell came out of the pit lane.
08:13And there, just straight away, locks up.
08:16That's very odd.
08:17That is one of the weirdest I have ever seen.
08:21He did quite well to keep it out of getting stuck in the gravel.
08:25Or he clipped the tires on the apex of Hamilton
08:28and then went off wide with broken steering or something.

08:33He just went off, didn't he?
08:35He just went exit stage right and clipped the barrier.
08:39So something went on the car.
08:41Yeah, he's hitting the barrier that's bounced him back across the road,
08:44rather than him steering.

09:15that was Lloyd getting the little nudge on the way in.

09:23Other dramas on the lap include
09:25Aaron Taylor-Smith getting involved with Tom Chilton
09:27and Ronan Pearson is there and Josh Cook is in the mix as well.
09:30And it all kicks off.
09:31There's nowhere for Cook to go,
09:33but then Pearson and Smith collide
09:35and Aaron Taylor-Smith gets spat out of the traffic
09:37and back, finds the barriers.
09:39This is a replay of Turkington trying to fend off Moffat.
09:42Hill gets up the inside of Morgan,
09:44clatters past his teammate.
09:45Turkington goes through as well.
09:47And then Morgan and Hill collide on exit.
09:49This is Roboto's moment up at the club.
09:51I'm going through the left-hander.
09:54He loses the rear, has to correct
09:56and goes straight across the inside at Noble,
09:59who's on a fast lap right now.
10:01What does he do?
10:02He loses it, actually, going in.
10:04That's an unusual spin, that is.
10:07Whether he had cold rears on, I don't know,
10:09but that's an unusual spin.

10:23going at Noble all over the grass.

10:34So that was Bronan Pearson, I think,
10:37turning Gelli around.
10:38Osborne have nowhere to go.
10:41And let's look from another angle.
10:44Yes, it was Bronan Pearson getting up the inside
10:47that turned around.
10:48No, sorry, Tom Chilton
10:49that turned around Stephen Gelli.
10:51Replay here of Stephen Gelli into the chicane.
10:53Wait for the tap.
10:54There it is.
10:55Turns him around.
10:57And, oh, what a feeling.
10:58He's in the middle of the road.
10:59And poor old Sam Osborne.

11:02No, he did well to stop the car in front.

11:13But he got it wrong coming out of Allard.

11:17So he was wide out of Allard.

11:24And Andrew gets far well off onto the grass.
11:26Slithers back onto the circuit.
11:28And then everybody else comes steaming past on the inside.

11:36very early doors up the Foster Circuit.
11:38The high 24s, if he could do that.

11:54And that, I would imagine, is going to be a red flag.

11:57Now, Aaron Taylor-Smith is OK.
11:59That's the good news.
12:00This is what happened there.
12:02So he's ahead of Dan Rowbottom.
12:03And it's Rowbottom that closes and goes for a gap on the inside
12:06and clatters into the fire.
12:08I'm wondering if Rowbottom had a problem.
12:10Well, I'm not sure.
12:11But I think Aaron Taylor-Smith was slowing.
12:13We suspected Aaron Taylor-Smith had a problem.
12:15He's going very slowly at that point.
12:18The closing speed was huge.

12:21It could have been a problem for Rowbottom.
12:22Either one of them didn't have brakes.
12:24Yeah.
12:25And that's why either Aaron Taylor-Smith slows early
12:29and catches out a fast corner from Rowbottom.
12:32Or Rowbottom had a problem.
12:34And huge commitment into Turn 1 from both Sutton and Ingram.

12:39Speared off the road there.
12:41Bobby Thompson.
12:42And he's got his foot to the pole.
12:44This is what happened at his lot.
12:45So the Astros went through.
12:47And then it was poor old Jade Edwards getting tagged sideways.
12:52Side-by-side in front with Rowbottom looking down the inside.
12:55That's three wide.
12:57And that was the first touch with Jade Edwards
12:59followed by the second touch from Will Powell.
13:02Taking points away from Sutton.
13:04Jelly was on the outside of the car.
13:06Contact was made.
13:07And off he went.
13:08Yeah.
13:09From that angle, it's really difficult to see who was in front or doing what.
13:12But it looked like he was trying to turn into the corner.
13:16And he hadn't got a clear overlap.
13:20Tuggington's made him defend.
13:22Now, this is how he sets up the move.

13:26He couldn't do it.
13:27Again.
13:28As they make the run towards Old Hall Corner for the first time.
13:30Getting squeezed up against the barrier was Ash Sutton.
13:33That would have done the Ford some damage, I fear, as he turns there.
13:36Look, with smoke.
13:37And he gets a tap in the back from Josh Cook.
13:39And all of a sudden, Sutton's got big damage.

13:44Well, there wasn't a gap.
13:45There wasn't a gap there.
13:46It was the tiniest of brushes into the wall.
13:49But I don't think the gap was there.
13:51Oh, he's broken the driveshaft as well.

13:54All of the drive's gone.
13:55You heard the engine revving.
13:56As you say, he does some great overtakes.
13:57And there's one.
13:58Jade Edwards round the outside of Mikey Dover.

14:24And it's all kicking off.

15:15he couldn't turn in properly because of damage.
15:17That has now transferred to one motorsport.
15:19Of course, he was instrumental in the design
15:21and the build and the running of those cars.
15:24That's Sam Osborne barging his way through.

15:29He was on the half on the grass
15:31trying to get past Taylor Smith.

16:23from going through the gravel.

16:29So, Turkington-Hedgcock down towards turn one.

16:32They're going from his next in the queue
16:33in a rather rally-crossing form.
16:34Scrabbles his way out of the gravel.

16:43So, there's the contact that taps the Ford sideways.
16:45We saw one go through the gravel.
16:47And then they all bounce back onto the road.
16:49Dan Lloyd got spat out of the pack.

16:59And then must have had a tank slap.

17:02So, Sutton went up the inside of Jelly.

18:14rather than into the chicane.
18:15But with that wet gravel compacting.
18:17He was an absolute best middle sector
18:19from Ash Sutton.
18:20This actually is not done yet.
18:21There's a spinner ahead of Butcher.
18:22It's a BMW, I think,
18:23that's gone around approaching the chicane.

18:26Steven Gelli is the man.
18:27But the BMW of Steven Gelli went around.
18:29Big, big spin.
18:30And he found the Colin Turkington.
18:34We thought he'd been off the road.
18:35He hit the chicane kerb
18:37and that really unsettled the car.
18:39And off the road he rattled.
18:41And that is Aidan Moffat arriving backwards.
18:44Nails the car.
18:46Coming out the other side.
18:47This was on board.
18:48Well, he was a little bit wide on the entry.
18:50Got his rear on the wet part of the track.
18:54Ascends the home race.
18:55One of the drivers, Aidan Moffat, of course.

18:58Goes Sutton through.
18:59Goes Cook.
19:00Big touch.
19:01Josh Cook takes the lead.
19:02Fantastic move.
19:03Which involved the Nappa Racing Ford.
19:04Dan Kamish, one of the drivers,
19:05trying to make progress.
19:06And then the two Fords get themselves together.
19:08Osborne chopping across the front of Kamish.
19:10They're going to be side by side
19:12coming through Turn 1.
19:13They're trying both...

19:17In fairness, Sutton was on the outside of the track
19:20and Cookie just slid into the side bin,
19:23which was enough to spin.

19:26Cookie couldn't hold it tight enough, could he?

19:30There was a very, very slight deviation in the line,
19:33wasn't there, from Josh Cook,
19:34who had done the fastest lap of the race.
19:36This was Dan Lloyd's demise.
19:37I got a big bit of help in that, didn't I?
19:39Was that Aaron Taylor-Smith behind him?
19:40It was.
19:41So that was contact.
19:43And Ash Sutton paddles his way through the chicane.
19:45Now he looks properly, properly, properly horrible.
19:47He's just managed to catch the slide.
19:49He's off. He's through the gravel.
19:50He's back on the road.
19:51Here we see the instant developing.
19:55So that's Butcher going through.
19:59Oh.
20:00Moffat just goes straight off the road, as does Butcher.
20:03In fact, I think they've both just gone off the road together.
20:06And then Butcher hit the BMW, and that's what did for him.
20:08It was the contact with the BMW.
20:10There is Butcher going through.
20:12If they did touch, it was the very lightest of contacts.
20:14But this is Moffat going off the road.
20:16Couldn't stop the car.
20:17Look, all the damage he's done
20:18as he just careers across the grass.
20:20Exactly the same as Camish in qualifying.
20:22I think Rob Collard would be very upset with Ricky there.
20:25He did a lot of hard work.

20:37And he just can't get the traction to get back on in place.

20:42So there's contact there and there.
20:44And that fires Turkington across in front of Camish
20:47into the barriers.
20:48And Camish retired the other side of the chicane.
20:50That's another angle of it.
20:52Well, I think Camish sort of lost control after the first bang
20:56and then ended up turning into Turkington.
20:59Oh, what was that? That was Osborne.
