00:00The Philippine Hotel Industry Strategic Action Plan 2023-2028 was laid out by the Department of Tourism

00:07which is a stronghold of the hotel industry in the country.

00:10Rod Lagusan was at the center of the news. Rod?

00:14Currently, a portion of the tourism sector of the country is under the jurisdiction of the Department of Tourism

00:19in one of the largest sectors, the hotel industry.

00:22According to the DOT, 1.45 million people are working in the accommodation industry

00:27which is a big help to provide jobs.

00:29According to the DOT, the Philippine Hotel Industry Strategic Action Plan 2023-2028 was laid out

00:36which is under the jurisdiction of the Philippine Hotel Owners Association Incorporated.

00:41It will be used to address the challenges of the hotel industry

00:44which includes the investment and accessibility of tourist destinations.

00:49According to Tourism Secretary Cristina Frasco, in 2028,

00:52there will be a demand of P560,000 for accommodation rooms.

00:57Because of this, the city needs to follow suit, just like investments.

01:01Frasco also said that now is the time to increase the capacity when it comes to this.

01:06Under the Circuyang Create Law, there are incentives for immigrants,

01:11particularly for tourism-specific infrastructure investment.

01:14Under the attached agency of CHEDA, incentives can be given,

01:18such as lower corporate income tax exemptions and importation duties.

01:22This is for immigrants in the country.

01:25At the same time, the Department of Tourism is also involved in the roads

01:31in terms of tourist destinations.

01:32That's why the DOT should continue to provide funds under the General Appropriations Act this week.
