00:09His remarks came during the ministerial dinner for delegates at the Asia-Pacific Ministerial

00:14Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction 2024, which kicked off earlier today.

00:20With the theme, Surge to 2030, Enhancing Ambition in Asia-Pacific to Accelerate Disaster Risk

00:26Reduction, the event seeks to foster collaboration, share best practices, and leverage science

00:32and technology to mitigate the impacts of climate change.

00:35Additionally, it highlights the importance of making disaster risk reduction financing

00:40accessible to all stakeholders.

00:43The overarching goal of the conference is to build a region that is adaptive, inclusive,

00:48resilient and sustainable.

00:51Here we can learn from each other, strengthen partnerships, identify innovative ideas, and

00:57adopt best practices.

00:59Our vision is clear.

01:01To reduce disaster risks and losses, and in doing so, protect lives, livelihoods, and

01:06the social and economic assets that underpin our societies.

01:12At the heart of our efforts, all our efforts, is climate change, an issue that we have integrated
