00:00Hello again. Firstly a heads up that if you're in the northern half of the UK tonight you may well catch a glimpse of the northern lights.
00:06For the rest of the weekend though it's a showery picture in the north, drier through central areas but there will be the chance of some rain, at least for the time, across southern parts of the UK.
00:15You can see the rain coming in from the south-west as we look on Saturday evening into the early hours of Sunday so quite a wet night potentially across parts of south-west England and south Wales.
00:24Dry through the north of this albeit with a few showers for northern Scotland and turning a bit chilly across parts of eastern Scotland and north-east England.
00:32Now we've got this little weather system across southern areas through Sunday, some uncertainty as to how far north it progresses before then pulling south later in the day.
00:40Elsewhere it's still quite breezy with those showers for the far north of Scotland.
00:44But it will be a wet start to Sunday morning across parts of south Wales, south-west England.
00:49This rain extending eastwards across other parts of southern England through the day, as I said an uncertain northward extent before pulling away.
00:55Elsewhere, fine, dry, some sunny spells, a few showers for northern Scotland and temperatures generally speaking down a notch compared to what we saw on Saturday.
01:04So the last of the rain will clear away from southern areas through Sunday afternoon, last to clear the Channel Islands and aside from a few further showers across northern Scotland it should be a mostly fine end to the weekend.
01:14The jet stream remains strong as it ploughs its way across the Atlantic into the start of next week.
01:19And whenever we've got this set up, it always means a scope for some unsettled weather to affect the UK, which means active weather fronts, some heavy rain, potential for some strong winds at times as well.
01:28So certainly an unsettled picture for the next few days. Wet and windy weather certainly possible at times, but with the winds coming in from the west or south-west it will often be on the mild side.
01:37More details of course can be found for the weather where you are by checking out the Met Office across social media or on our website. Bye for now.
