Emotional concert marking 10 years since the death of two Doncaster boys

Christine Talbot interviews Claire Throssell at the concert which marked 10 years since the death of her two sons.

01:43The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky,

01:52are also on the faces of the people.

02:53I had a blanket that smelled still of the boys.

02:56And every day I would sit underneath that blanket

02:59and that's my favorite place.

03:02That was a place that somewhere only I knew

03:07and it was a safe place.

03:10And that song brings back the memories of those dark days

03:14and how far we've come in 10 years.

03:19You've got more than 100,000 signatures on the petition now.

03:24Where does that take us next in your campaign

03:28in the name of the boys?

03:30It takes us back down Downing Street.

03:32It takes us back to the government to challenge them again

03:36of our practice direction 12G.

03:39I've said once and I'll say it again,

03:41presumption has no place in a court of law,

03:44whether it's a family court or a crown court

03:47or a magistrate's court.

03:49All that should be in a court is truth, facts and justice.

03:54And I will fight and fight until they look at practice direction 12G

04:00and every child that's accessing or caught up in the family courts safe.

04:06Clare, you've got the support of so many people here tonight.

04:11Can you tell me who's performing and who is here?

04:14So we have Barnsley Town Concert Band,

04:17which is the band that Jack was so proud to play in and wear his uniform.

04:22And we have Barnsley Singers that I sing with.

04:26We rehearse every Tuesday night.

04:28I lost music because I thought you need to sing with a heart

04:32and my heart is smashed.

04:34But through Barnsley Singers and through all the friendships and support,

04:39I found music again.

04:41And to have that back in my life and be supported by so many amazing people

04:47is a very special thing and it's empowering.

04:52And I'll never stop using my voice again.

04:56I will keep singing, I will keep talking

04:59because all this government makes children safe.
