QLD Premier makes $400 million pre-election health pledge

On the campaign trail, the Queensland Premier has travelled south of Brisbane, where he's made an almost $400 million dollar pre-election health pledge.

00:07pledged to build or lease 50 new bulk build GP practices if his Labor government is re-elected.

00:15It would cost $365 million, with the locations of the clinics still to be determined in consultation

00:22with industry.

00:23Now, GP bulk build practices are typically the responsibility of the Commonwealth, but

00:29the Premier says too many Queenslanders are going without access to clinics.

00:33The decline in primary health care and access to bulk billing I consider the greatest public

00:39policy regression of recent decades.

00:42Health has been a key focus for Labor all of this week.

00:46In week two of the Queensland election campaign, Mr Miles has made the announcement from the

00:51electorate of Mudgeribah.

00:53It's held by Shadow Health Minister Ros Bates since 2009.
