00:12As the chair of ASEAN this year, Laos has set the tagline of the summit as Enhancing
00:17Connectivity and Resilience, in line with its goal of transforming Laos from being merely
00:22landlocked into a center of regional integration.
00:52Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to deliver a speech in a closed-door
01:11plenary session with ASEAN leaders.
01:14According to Wisma Putra, aside from the ASEAN summits, Anwar will attend the plus-one summits
01:21between ASEAN and seven dialogue partners, namely Australia, China, Japan, India, South
01:27Korea, US and Canada.
01:29Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken are also expected
01:35to attend the summits.
01:37At the closing ceremony on Friday, Laos as the current chair will symbolically hand over
01:41the ASEAN chairmanship to Malaysia.
