Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has arrived in Cebu on Thursday (May 7) for a two-day visit to attend the 48th Asean Summit and Related Meetings.

A special aircraft carrying Anwar and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, landed at the Brigadier General Benito N. Ebuen Air Base here at 1.50pm, which is the same time as Kuala Lumpur.

00:24officials and Malaysia's ambassador to the Philippines.
00:28Upon arrival, Anwar was accorded a guard of honour and greeted by traditional dancers
00:34at the airport.
00:35During the visit, the Prime Minister will attend the special Brunei-Derusalem-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines-East-ASEAN
00:43Growth Area Summit, focusing on sub-regional development.
00:47He is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with leaders from Laos and Singapore, followed
00:53by a leaders' dinner hosted by Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his wife.
00:59On May 8, Anwar will attend the opening of the 48th ASEAN Summit and hold further bilateral
01:05meetings with leaders from Vietnam and Thailand.
01:08He will later attend a gala dinner before returning to Malaysia.
01:12The Foreign Ministry says the summit provides an opportunity for Malaysia to exchange views
01:17on ASEAN community building and future direction, including regional energy and food security,
01:24as well as the impact of the West Asia crisis on Southeast Asia.
