00:00I mean, we look and we want an undefeated NFL team.

00:04It's really hard to do.

00:06Even the bad teams can win games.

00:09And that's what we're seeing in college football.

00:11So if you're used to, hey, I just want to dominate Clemson, I want to dominate Alabama.

00:17Those days are done, I think.

00:18I think we're seeing a dramatic shift here, though.

00:20I didn't think it was going to happen this quick.

00:22And I'm telling you right now, and you guys can answer mine, it's a little overreaction,

00:26we might see an eight and four playoff team.

00:29It's very possible.

00:33On October 7th, Aaron Rodgers is washed up.

00:37Three picks in London, second one was really ugly.

00:40The offense hasn't seen a big enough jump from the Zach Wilson days.

00:45He's not the quarterback he used to be.

00:46I don't think anybody should expect him to be the quarterback he used to be.

00:49He's also not getting the protection that he is used to having.

00:53He's getting beat up.

00:54He's going to throw some picks.

00:56I don't think he's washed up, but I don't think he's the quarterback he used to be.

01:02I think he is washed up.

01:03And we saw this in his last season in Green Bay.

01:05He wasn't as good.

01:07And then he had an Achilles injury and he's 40.

01:09I think you're seeing a difference between a 40-year-old coming off an Achilles and a

01:1335-year-old or whatever, Cousins, since he's around that age.

01:15But I think you've got to...

01:17What does washed up mean?

01:19He doesn't look like himself anymore.

01:20He looks like a mediocre quarterback.

01:22Okay, but how many other quarterbacks would you take instead of Aaron Rodgers?

01:27You put me on the spot, but probably three-quarters of the league.

01:37Even if Anthony Richardson is healthy, Joe Flacco should be the starter in Indy.

01:41Five touchdowns, zero picks the last two weeks.

01:44And let's not forget, last year helped the Browns make the playoffs.

01:47This league's about winning.

01:48He gives them the best chance to win.

01:50I don't think it's an overreaction.

01:52And here's where I go back to my philosophy of young quarterbacks.

01:57It takes them sometimes years.

02:00Is Anthony Richardson going to be a bust?

02:02I don't think so.

02:03I think he's going to be a good quarterback, but he needs time.

02:06He didn't get that experience last year.

02:08You're seeing a quarterback basically continue his rookie season.

02:11Was it four games he played last year?

02:13Now all of a sudden, you're expecting him to be a C.J. Stroud?

02:20I know we're seeing it in Washington as well with Jaden Daniels, but if I'm in Indianapolis,

02:27I allow him time to develop, to learn the NFL game, and I go with Flacco while that's

02:32happening.

02:33See, I think you keep Richardson here because what are you if even Flacco works out nine

02:38and eight?

02:39That defense is not very good down there.

02:42And Taylor's out.

02:43I mean, where are you going with Flacco?

02:46Why find out about Richardson now?

02:49Put him in there.

02:50Hey, if he's got some injuries, there's no reason to take chances.

02:53I just don't get what the point is.

02:56The best thing Flacco could do is what the Browns did last year.

03:26I mean, you want to talk about a quarterback that is not like he used to be, whether it's

03:33He got the big time contract.

03:39There's just way too many off the field distractions that are continuing to resurface.

03:44Yeah, I sit them down and let somebody else go in there and try and win you some games.

03:50Who is their backup?

03:51You guys know off the top of your head?

03:53I know what's the old UCLA quarterback.

03:55Jameis Winston's their backup.

03:56Oh yeah, that's right.

03:58He throws so many interceptions.

04:01Look, the bottom line is this is, I don't see how this ever works out at this point.

04:05He's played enough to show that he's not the quarterback he was, and maybe it was never

04:10all that good to begin with because I think Bill O'Brien made him.

04:17The Packers are the worst team in the NFC North.

04:20Vikings are 5-0.

04:21Lions, we think highly of at 3-1.

04:25Caleb Williams is outplayed Jordan Love the last couple weeks, and the light bulb might

04:29be going on.

04:31It's a bit of an overreaction.

04:32I'm not ready to say Caleb Williams.

04:34Caleb Williams is going to have some up and downs.

04:36They still have Matt Eberfloos as their coach, and I don't think much of him as a coach and

04:42what he can do for Chicago.

04:43He's got a lot of weapons.

04:45If he simply just hits the, I'm not going to try too much or try to do too much button,

04:52then he can be okay as a rookie, but I'm not ready to say that they're going to be better

04:58than Green Bay through the course of 17 games.

05:00Whole division has a winning record.

05:02Someone has to be the worst team, Tom.

05:05It's still Chicago for now.

05:07Again, need to see more Carolina.

05:09Everybody puts 30 up against them.

05:10Do I see it as a possibility?

05:13I mean, this division, that's the bigger thing.

05:16Why has it got to be so hard?

05:19I mean, the Lions are going to have to go minimally 4-2 in the division to probably

05:23win it at this point.

05:24That's probably what you thought before the year.

05:26I didn't expect them to go 3-3 in the division.

05:27That's a winning record.

05:28I didn't expect them to go 6-0.

05:29Well, yeah, that's kind of what you got to do if you want to be the team.

05:32I think we all had a Chicago loss, and they're probably going to have to win that now.

05:38And that last game of the season against Minnesota, suddenly a very different game.

05:43On that note, after the Niners lose again, the NFC runs through Detroit.

05:50Sure the Vikings have a lead, but there's two games against Detroit.

05:54The Lions have looked the best of the preseason heavyweights, Eagles, Niners, Detroit.

05:59It goes through Ford Field.

06:03To me, it's not an overreaction.

06:04I think the Lions are the better team.

06:07I think in all three phases, they're a better team.

06:10Now, the question is going to be for Minnesota, how long can they keep Sam Darnold playing

06:16at this level, and how long can Brian Flores continue to get his defense to play at an

06:23elite level?

06:24That's where they are right now.

06:26I think the Lions are the best team still, but I'm certainly starting to question a little

06:29bit in the back of my mind.

06:30I mean, the defense that they're playing is just, nobody saw that coming, right?

06:36And all they need is a game manager at quarterback.

06:39It's like they've got the perfect formula to really rack up a great regular season win,

06:44but you know what?

06:45When push comes to shove, I think in the playoffs, I still wouldn't buy them, but I don't know.

06:50They've got such a lead now.

06:51If they go eight and four the rest of the way, the Lions have to go 10 and two and rely

06:54on tiebreakers.
