00:00Cap, I was able to talk to you earlier in the week when the story around Devontae Adams

00:06had just broke.

00:07A lot has come out since then.

00:10We now sit here on a Sunday morning.

00:12What are you hearing around the Devontae Adams situation?

00:15Yeah, look, I fully expect it to be traded.

00:17Now, understand a couple of things here.

00:20There are sort of layers to this potential deal.

00:23The trade deadline is not till November 5th.

00:26The Raiders want this, the way that I've gotten it from around the league, from teams

00:30talking to the Raiders, I'd like to get this resolved as soon as possible.

00:33Meaning, trade the player, get as much as they can.

00:37They want a second round pick at least, and I'll explain to why it may not be easy because

00:41of his contract.

00:42See, part of it, Kevin, is if you look at his contract, he's making just under a million

00:47dollars a week.

00:48I know that sounds crazy, but that's really what it is, $993,500.

00:53So that's part of it.

00:55And obviously, this plays into which week do you get him, because that adds more money

00:59to it.

01:00And then, will his contract require restructure?

01:03Clearly, it's more of a one-year situation.

01:05Yes, he's got two years left past this, but the problem is how much money he's owed in

01:10future years, which is not acceptable.

01:13Well over $30 million next year, those are what we call sort of dummy years.

01:16Yes, he's on the books for it.

01:18No team's taking that money.

01:20Those teams could just wait, but it's a question of what are they going to do with his contract

01:24for this season?

01:25That's got to get resolved.

01:26And then, as someone else told me, I don't think this is going to have any bearing on

01:30it, but I do want to mention it because someone from another team threw it at me.

01:33What if the Writers somehow win today at Denver?

01:35They're 3-2.

01:36Clearly, if you look at the AFC wildcard picture, clearly in it.

01:40Do they still want to trade Adams?

01:41Yes.

01:42That's the word around the league.

01:43They still want to trade him.

01:44And lastly, I do want to add this because this is important for fantasy.

01:48Well, what happens when this deal is done, assuming it gets done as early as this week?

01:53Trey Tucker is that guy.

01:54Trey Tucker was, I think, a third-rounder last year out of University of Cincinnati.

01:58Very explosive.

01:59One of the fastest young receivers in the NFL.

02:01Not the biggest guy, Kevin, under 5'9", but talking to members of the coaching staff this

02:05spring, they love him because he's explosive.

02:08You can move him around.

02:09But it would also make them more of a 12-personnel team because of Brock Ballard's first-round

02:13tight end.

02:14Adam, if we take a look also at the Raiders, which, again, Devontae Adams is the big news

02:19story.

02:20Let's just say they do move him within a week's time.

02:22Where does that leave the quarterback situation?

02:23Because Gardner Minshew wasn't brought in necessarily to be the franchise guy.

02:26Aidan O'Connell is the backup quarterback.

02:28Could this also signal, if they move on from Adams, that they'll be looking for a quarterback

02:32in the draft next year?

02:33Well, that's for sure.

02:34I mean, they don't know who their future is, Donnie.

02:36Past this season, yes, when you talk about this quarterback, Gardner Minshew, he did

02:41sign a two-year deal worth $12.5 million a year.

02:44But you're always, you don't like to, Donnie, talking to general managers, you don't like

02:47going year-to-year.

02:48Minshew is a terrific backup.

02:52He's what you call a transitional quarterback to the younger quarterback.

02:54But remember, Tom Telesco, the general manager, he didn't draft O'Connell, but he did sign

02:59Gardner Minshew to that two-year deal.

03:01So Minshew is sort of the placeholder quarterback for now.

03:05I would take a look at how that situation kind of plays out.

03:08But let me tell you something.

03:09They're not changing quarterbacks.

03:11If the Raiders win today at Denver, they're not changing quarterbacks.

03:14You don't change quarterbacks when you win.

03:16But O'Connell will get his playing time eventually this season.

03:21They love Minshew's moxie.

03:23He clearly was that guy to start the season.

03:26He won the job.

03:27It wasn't by a landslide, but he clearly was the guy.

03:29And he's got a lot of work with these guys.

03:31And he does like throwing to the tight end, by the way.

03:33Brock Bowers is a guy going forward, but you get a lot of work.
