00:00An UMNO leader has chided PAS' information chief, Ahmad Fadli Shari, for quoting a famous
00:08line from China's communist leader Mao Zedong in response to Perikatan Nasional's defeat
00:14in the Makuta by-election. UMNO's Supreme Council member, Puat Sarkashi, sarcastically
00:21described Fadli's decision to reference Mao as a good one. In a Facebook post, Puat said
00:29that while PAS can quote communist leaders, PN would accuse others of being communists
00:34for doing the same. He compared this situation to money politics, saying that when others
00:40engage in it, it would be labelled as corruption, but if PAS does it, it is viewed as charity.
00:47After PN's Haizan Jafar's loss in the Makuta by-election, where Barisan Nasional secured
00:53a 20,648-vote majority, Fadli found inspiration in Mao's famous line,
01:00We must have faith in the masses and we must have faith in the party. These are two cardinal
01:05principles. If we doubt these principles, we will accomplish nothing.
01:10Prior to the by-election, Johor PN filed a police report against Puat, after claiming
01:16he would spread communist ideology among state UMNO members and the state legislative assembly,
01:22where Puat is the speaker, after a trip to China.
