A technician who fell while conducting repairs on the glass deck of Eagle's Nest Skywalk atop Gunung Machinchang in Langkawi has been confirmed dead.

Langkawi Police Chief ACP Shariman Ashari said Khairul Nizam Jaffar, 41, was three months into his employment at the glass deck company.

00:10The victim was identified as Khairul Nizam Jafar,
00:14who was three months into his employment at the glass deck company.
00:17Langkawi Police Chief ACP Shariman Ashari said police received information
00:22from the victim's supervisor at 12.25 pm.
00:26A team from the Police, Fire and Rescue Department
00:30and the Civil Defence Force conducted a rescue operation at the location.
00:34The victim is believed to have fallen from the metal bracket
00:37holding the glass deck some 40 metres below.
00:40ACP Shariman said the victim's body was retrieved at 5.11 pm
00:45and sent to the forensic unit of Sultana Maliha Hospital on the island for post-mortem.
00:51The case has been classified as sudden death.
