Brian Woods marks opening for new CGE Southern office

Andy Gatenby, Operations Director, Commercial Gas Engineers Southern Ltd has opened a new office in Southsea, Portsmouth

00:00Hello, my name is Andy Gattenby and I'm the director of CGE Southern.

00:03Today, we're at the grand opening of our new office,

00:06and it's a sort of a joint celebration at the same time.

00:10We sort of I'm a big firm believer in celebrating the small wins in life

00:14and the company's progressing really, really in the right point.

00:18You know, go back to November and it was just myself and my wife.

00:21And now we're up to seven engineers, two apprentices

00:24and a subsidiary air conditioning company as well.

00:27So it's yeah, it's very good.

00:29Good celebration for today.

00:31It's good.

00:31It's been I set goals so big that I couldn't achieve them

00:35until I grew into the person that I could that could.

00:38So initially, when the goals that we set at the start of the journey,

00:42I wasn't the person that could achieve them.

00:44So it's been a it's been an ongoing personal journey.

00:47And now I'm sort of ten times the person that I was going back to November,

00:50you know, so the goals that I set in November that were so big.

00:54Now they're sort of I'm looking at a lot bigger goals, you know.

00:56So it's I've grown as a person and the company's grown with that growth, you know.

01:03Yeah. So my name's Brian Wood and

01:07I've known Andy for for a good while now.

01:10And it's really important for me to support.

01:14You know, good people like Andy, who have got big dreams, big ambitions

01:19and he's working hard to reach his goals in the future.

01:23And it started today with this grand opening, you know, of his office.

01:27And like he said, starting from, you know, a one man band,

01:31bringing in his wife and now to have multiple operators

01:36working under him is some achievement.

01:39And it's really important that for me to support good people.

01:44And, you know, in turn, I'm hoping that he will support me

01:49when when I go on to to achieve my dreams.

01:51So, yeah, it's very important that we look after one another

01:55and and seeing what he's achieved in such short space of time

02:00is very inspirational.

02:01So, yeah, it's a real pleasure for me to be here today to cut open that ribbon

02:06and to kickstart, you know, this office space off.

02:09So, yeah, fair play to him.

02:10And I wish him all the very best.

02:13I've actually got my own business as well in sportswear and teamwear.

02:17And at the moment, it's me and my wife in the kitchen.

02:21You know, churning it out, working every hour that, you know, is available to us.

02:26And but we're we're growing.

02:28We're doing really good stuff at the moment.

02:30But today is not about me.

02:31It's it's about this man.

02:33So, yeah, he's a real credit to Portsmouth.

02:36And I'll always support him because, yeah, he's he's a good egg.

02:42Next steps after this, moving forward,

02:44the company is going to go from strength to strength.

02:46We want to create a few more subdivisions.

02:49As always, I'm always chasing trying to get to Hollywood at the same time.

02:52So one day I'm auditioning, trying to get on EastEnders.

02:54The next day we're putting quotes together.

02:56So it's always the it's always the dream to run them concurrently.

02:59So my my my ideal scenario is to run the company so that it runs without me.

03:04And that enables me to follow my sort of path as an actor

03:08and be able to sort of jump between the two as we move forward, you know.
