00:00Hi, welcome back to my channel.
00:02In this video, I will explain the ending of Naga, so, let's begin.
00:06Meshal Al-Jaser's Netflix film, Naga is all about the lengths a teenage girl will
00:10go to return home before her curfew time in Saudi Arabia.
00:13Naga follows a young woman tripping her way out of a chase of a lifetime as she tries
00:17to escape vengeful camel, police, and ruffians after a secret party is busted.
00:22Here's everything you need to know about the ending, just to let you know this video
00:25will contain spoilers.
00:27Sarah was born into a conservative Riyadh family where she was always expected to behave
00:31a certain way.
00:32The rebellious teenager was afraid of her father, who was known for his rage.
00:37In her own little way, Sarah protested against the limitations she was bound by.
00:41She particularly detested her little brother, knowing how easy his life was going to be
00:45compared to hers.
00:47This was not the first time Sarah had lied to her father about going shopping with her
00:50friend, Hadeel.
00:52It had almost become a ritual and Hadeel was not too happy about it.
00:56After a few minutes of silence, Sarah's father agreed to pick her up an hour later than the
00:59previously agreed upon time.
01:02Sarah had to return home at 10 p.m. and she informed her boyfriend, Saad, about the same.
01:07Sarah was afraid of facing the consequences of missing the deadline but at the same time,
01:11taking the risk and going on a desert date seemed equally important.
01:15Sarah had her headscarf removed and had her feet on the dashboard as they drove to a desert
01:19camp owned by Saad's friend.
01:21She was visibly excited to try the recreational drugs that Saad had mixed in the drink he
01:25brought.
01:26Before gulping it down, she confirmed the effect of the drug to make sure that she was
01:29in the right state of mind before heading home.
01:32The hallucination did not kick in instantly and the two lovers waited in the desert for
01:36things to go wild.
01:38And so it did.
01:39They watched three punks vandalize an ice cream van and rough up the owner.
01:43It happened in front of their eyes but they chose not to intervene.
01:47While heading to the desert camp, Saad drove his car into a camel.
01:51The animal screamed in agonizing pain and the herder refused to let go of Saad.
01:55After learning that he was heading to the farm owner's camp, the man showed mercy.
01:59The injured camel had to be killed to relieve it of the pain but the mother camel kept on
02:03grunting and screaming.
02:05Sarah knew that camels were spiteful creatures and that stuck with her.
02:09They finally reached the camp and everything started to get worse with time.
02:13How did Sarah find help in the desert?
02:16Soon after entering the desert camp in Naga, Sarah struggled to find Saad.
02:20The hallucination she experienced made it all the more difficult for her to find him.
02:24With Saad not by her side, Sarah found men staring at her suggestively.
02:29She manically searched for him, only to later find him making out with another woman.
02:33With her mother constantly calling her and Saad betraying her, the hallucinations kept
02:37getting worse.
02:38She ended up in the same room as the famous poet Abu Fahd, and she discovered that his
02:42poems were written by his assistant.
02:45By the time Abu Fahd discovered Sarah in his room, the police had started to raid the camp.
02:50The sudden screaming and panic left Sarah in complete dismay, and she headed towards
02:54a stranger's car who offered to help her.
02:57Saad showed up all of a sudden and asked Sarah to get in his car.
03:00He was apologetic that she had to find out about the affair, and they both agreed to
03:03call it quits once they returned.
03:06But we soon find out in Naga that Saad was carrying drugs in his car.
03:10The police started to chase his car, and Sarah ended up hiding in the trunk.
03:14Saad was taken away by the police, and Sarah was left stranded in the desert all alone.
03:19There was barely any charge left in her phone, and to make the night all the more hellish,
03:23Sarah spotted the mother camel.
03:25Sarah could sense that the mother was out for revenge and had been waiting to unleash
03:28its rage upon her.
03:30Sarah sought refuge under the car to protect herself from the mad camel.
03:34She managed to call Hadeel and convince her to drive to the desert to get her, but unfortunately,
03:38her phone ran out of battery, and she could not text her the address.
03:42Sarah had no other choice but to run for her life.
03:45She managed to find a shack that rented out quads.
03:48The owner was kind and offered to drop Sarah off at the main road.
03:52But the situation went out of control when the three rowdy quad drivers stopped at the
03:56shop.
03:57Sarah knew that the punks would attack the owner, and she intervened before they could
04:00do so.
04:02One of the boys screamed in pain as his hand caught on fire, and Sarah thought it was the
04:05best opportunity for her to lock them all in the house and take one of the quads to
04:09find her way back to the main road.
04:11The journey was not an easy one, the quad gave up midway, and she had to cover the rest
04:15of the path on foot.
04:17At the end of Naga, Sarah comes across an ice cream van, and the driver offers to help
04:21her.
04:22As soon as the van stopped at the Riyadh hospital, Sarah escaped.
04:26She did not care about her health as long as she reached the meeting spot on time.
04:30Because of the traffic, her father texted her that he would reach there at 11.30, and
04:34Sarah had only a few minutes left to make it.
04:37Why did Sarah expose the famous poet?
04:40Sarah realized that she had left her phone in the ice cream van, and the only option
04:43she had was to pretend to be a victim of the fire at Al Jafri Sweets.
04:47She coated her face with ashes to make it all the more convincing.
04:51Her father ran towards her and was glad to see his daughter alive.
04:54She was taken to the ambulance, where she was offered medical assistance.
04:59Sarah's mother did not pester her about the things she had asked her to buy, and her father
05:02did not complain about his daughter turning up late at the meeting spot.
05:06During Naga's ending, it all worked out for Sarah, and she was even offered a nice cake
05:10to make her feel better.
05:12Since Sarah has consumed some form of hallucinogen, we cannot trust her memory completely.
05:17Maybe the vengeful camel was just a fragment of her imagination, considering that she was
05:21thinking about the spiteful nature of camels when she took the drugs.
05:24She was alone when the incident occurred, and maybe we saw the version she believed
05:28she had lived through.
05:29But not everything Sarah had to go through was false, for example, the Abu Fahad conversation
05:34she overheard.
05:35She had evidence to destroy a man of great stature, but in the end, she is left to wonder
05:39whether she will take the bold step or let it slide.
05:42As a woman, she was expected to not interfere and silently carry on with her existence.
05:48But Sarah was a rebel, and she refused to stay quiet.
05:51After giving it some thought, Sarah shared the video on social media, she was no longer
05:55afraid of facing the consequences after the harrowing night she had to live through.
05:59Naga explores the anxiety-laden existence of a Saudi teenage girl and how she finds
06:03ways and means to fight for her rights in everyday life.
