00:00It's smooth, it's silent, it's not particularly quick, 0-60 will take you 7 and a half seconds.

00:18Hey, that's plenty quick for the mission, right?

00:21It's all about keeping the person in the back comfortable.

00:24So quiet, easy acceleration, yeah, that'll do the trick.

00:31I grew up in minivans.

00:33I have a soft spot for minivans.

00:35I love them.

00:36They are so practical.

00:37They do so many things that SUVs struggle to do.

00:41I wish we had minivans as cool as this Volvo EM90 in the U.S.

00:47This is a six-figure minivan, but bear with me here.

00:51You have to see the back seat.

00:53I flew from Detroit to China in economy class, and I keep looking at those seats getting

00:58angrier and angrier and angrier that I had to do that rather than sit in something as

01:04posh and comfortable as those seats.

01:06They are literally, okay, not literally, but they look like they were lifted out of a business

01:12class section of an airplane.

01:14Nice armrests, fold-out tray tables, the seat reclines, the footrest comes out, super comfortable,

01:20massaging, heated, cool.

01:22I wish I had grown up in a minivan like this.

01:25That's the childhood I deserve.

01:27Let's roller around the figure eight course.

01:30A little bit of rotation under power at the exit there.

01:34Really nicely poised.

01:37This thing is shockingly planted and poised.

01:40I mean, those minivans I grew up with, I took them around corners with tires squealing like

01:45this, and they never felt this poised or planted.

01:47You're always just fighting understeer, dealing with the understeer.

01:50This thing is really nicely balanced.

01:53Phenomenal Volvo, incredible.

01:55I don't know how you can make a market for this in the US, but figure out a way.

01:59All those people being chauffeured in Rolls Royces and Bentleys should really think about

02:04a minivan.

02:05This is sweet.

02:06I've been driving a lot of electric sedans around this figure eight course.

02:10Things that probably should be considered sports sedans or want to be considered sports

02:14sedans.

02:15And yeah, I'm going a bit quicker in those, but they can't handle the braking.

02:19They keep overheating the brakes in everything we're doing.

02:22And yet this giant Volvo is just kind of happily humming around here.

02:27No issues with the brakes, no warnings, pedals not getting soft and spooky.

02:31We're just having a good time here.

02:33Legacy automakers long ago figured out how to make the brakes handle the heat of stopping

02:37their vehicles.

02:38Who's ever done that in a minivan before?

02:42I'm sure some kid has, but they probably ended in a ditch.

02:46All right.

02:47I mean, I'd like to stay out here all day and then I'd like to figure out a way to fly

02:51this back to the U.S. and make this my personal vehicle.

02:54I would love to see minivans make a comeback.

02:57Not just like exist.

02:58They do exist, but make a cultural comeback.

03:01Make minivans cool again.

03:03This is what would do that.

03:05This Volvo EM90 could make minivans cool again like they were in the 1980s and early 90s.
