00:00Ashidown station has finally opened its doors. Let's ask locals what they think about the new station.
00:08I think I'll probably still continue to use Montpellier because it's a little bit nearer
00:12and it's cheaper, it's probably cheaper. However, yeah, this one may be used, what would be useful
00:18if going to Parkway station to go up north sometimes, you know, but I can see, yeah, I
00:24should see, I'll definitely use it sometimes. Montpellier will still be my main one but this is,
00:30yeah. Probably like won't use it like every day but I do work down just by Temple Meads so,
00:38you know, sometimes I might use it to, rather than, I normally cycle to work but, you know,
00:44if it's raining I might take the train instead and it's really good for things like today I'm
00:48going to Bath to meet some friends so it's just actually saved quite a lot of time by being able
00:53to go straight into Temple Meads and then get on another train so, yeah. Obviously want to use the,
01:00what do you call it, the cycle route more because that is the cycle route I'm familiar with
01:05but I would have to think sometimes going places, like on Monday I've got a dentist appointment
01:12so I could cycle to Temple Meads station, get the train up to here and probably get to the dentist
01:18quicker than cycling the whole way so I might do that. I have actually, after the dentist
01:24appointment, got somewhere else to go so it might be that getting down into town quicker on the train
01:31is going to work better for me. I need to look at the time so that's just one example on Monday,
01:36you know, the station gives extra choice. The disadvantage with the station is no toilets,
01:43yeah, there's the lift, that's great but, you know, to spend time here, you know,
01:49you can't really because you need toilets, yeah, so that's the one downside of it.
